Guys, let's not jump into conclusions here...
As most of you know, I have sided against Karimi on many cases since 2006... but in this case it's different. First of all, this is his
first time acting as a coach..... The way I see it, C.Q. is much smarter than many people give him credit... and when I say smarter, I am not talking about his ability to coach on the field.... C.Q. is a master psychologist, and a manipulator of the minds of the public.... I had a feeling addition of Karimi to TM was very strange, and suspected had no technical reasons from the beginning. I mean, lets be fair, Karimi had no coaching resume and all the sudden he gets promoted to become the national team's assistant coach??? Isn't it pretty obvious??? It's screaming obvious to me that C.Q. was using Karimi to buy popularity during his contract negotiations with IRI.... He(C.Q.) has realized that the government of Iran is very much interested to keep people quiet, and if he wants to remain coach and charge 3xtimes more than he is worth, all he needs is to have the public on his side.... how does he do that??? By bringing in players such as Karimi and Majidi(or someone else from Esteghlal like Ansarian) who are loved by people.... Karimi is one of the most loved soccer players in Iran, ... so he brought him to the squad with absolutely no intentions to use or teach him anything as far as coaching is concerned.... Karimi was just to be in the team so people would be on their side.....
Karimi is a nice guy and in my opinion fell for C.Q.'s plan in the beginning and gave him the benefit of the doubt, but as months passed by he realized he is not really an assistant coach... I really hail him for his honesty, I mean lets face it, if Karimi just wanted to get paid a nice salary and enjoy popularity, all he had to do was to play with C.Q.'s plan and collect his check, but he did not do that.... I have a whole new respect for Karimi because of this... and I have a feeling the reason he is quiet is because he does not want to create Hashiye for TM in this sensitive time, which again is a nice thing he is doing....
All I ask you guys is please don't judge quickly.
I mean, for those who know me here, I am a big Daie fan and have criticized Karimi in many cases before.... but have to give credit where credit is due... I will not change my mind about what I wrote unless I hear Karimi with my own ears saying there was another reason... I am 99% positive this is why he has left.

If it continues this way it is very likely for CQ to not continue with TM after AC. We will either have a horrible display and he will get fired or TM will have a good tournament but CQ will quit same as he did in SA after qualifying them for the WC. Can't blame him really, Iranian football deserves Daei, QN or MK type coaches.

So is Ali Karimi going to be friends with Daie now? They both have issues in getting along with other people, so that could be a common platform to make a friendship on.

LOL. Talk about a dream team... Daei as coach and Karimi as his assistant!

I'm a huge Karimi fan, but this is uncalled for, especially two weeks before the AC. If you cant put your ego aside for TM, then why did you accept the position in the first place?

EDIT: He officially did not accompany TM to Australia, the players are now at the airport and Karimi is not going to be with TM at AC.

Well, I doubt CQ would quit if he wins the Asian Cup. He would become a national hero and a legend, also he will have a chance to lead Iran through the Confederations Cup in 2017 which is a mini-World Cup too. I don't think he would let that opportunity go, he is almost at the end of his coaching career. I think he will stay our coach until WC 2018, take Iran to the Round of 16 and then retire in style.

The interpretation of the quote is interesting!
So, there are only two choices? to leave or otherwise betray?
So, "if he stayed he had to betray us?"

                  Sorry his logic escapes me!

Kafashian quitting and Karimi quitting,...with terrible timing!
Are they abandoning a sinking ship, or is there a plot to sink the ship??

He could've done that a month or two ago, not on the eve of this tournament!
It's almost symbolic when you decide not to board the plane.
It's the "rafeeqe nime rah" (half way friend)style quitting!
I have nothing against him, but he could've stayed for two more weeks for moral support!

Even if he could't help, he could learn. But his existence was more helpful than quitting last second!

If CQ intention was to become popular he would've invited karimi and rahmati before WC. You should know him by now that he doesn't give a flying potatoes what other people think of his decisions.

I read online somewhere that he was upset that they bought him an economy ticket while all other coches we're flying first and business. I would be pretty upset too and as a matter of fact I got into an argument with my boss when he bought me a ticket with a stopover for work.

                                Why am I not surprised..
At 17 he kicks the ref in the butt, at 37 quits the team right before a very important tournament because somebody told him there's eyebrows above his eyes..!
And all other things that happened in between during those 20 years..
