My personal experience with Masoud Shojaei

Shayan jan,
thank you for sharing your story.
I am one of the critics of Shojaeis performance for TM. I never questioned his gheyrat, his passion and love.
It's his overall performance over years for TM which is bothering.
I also read the comment about him hopefully being injured or the Quran kissing thing (which i still believe to be ironic in the first place ) This is absolutely wrong.
Iranian fans tend to get emotional in less than 0.1 nano seconds and start to get abusive.
It is nearly impossible to meet expectations of fans, especially iranian fans.
I, for my part, only want him to deliver the same performance which he delivers at his clubs. Because he is capable of doing much much better,
That's a realistic expecation.
But he is failing over years. That drives me crazy. Whenever he is absent or sent off we tend to win the games. Go figure.
He better start to deliver finally in Australia.IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Thanks shayan for sharing your experience.
Funny thing is that for the person that matters, I.e. CQ, masoud delivers, hence he maintains his place in the team. But for all of us arm chair and cyber coaches he is this and he is that. The reality is that it doesn't matter. What matters is what CQ thinks.

I too have met him a few times and he really is one of the friendliest players in the camp, no doubt about him but crisitizing a player is only fair. He has usually failed on the big stage for Iran and fans have every right to critisise him. At 31, this is gonna be his last chance to prove his doubters wrong so let's see if he manages to deliver or not.چو ایران نباشد تن من مباد
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

Respect to your story and him being the gentleman he is but he has been poor for TM. I hope he can prove his worth in AC 2015. We all know how good he is but for some reason, there has been a trend of underperforming with him with these past years at TM. There's pressure on him to do well as there is Rafiei in the squad. That may motivate him to do well and not lose his spot in a way? I hope so.

Bah agha Shayane gol hamchenin Khoshtipo khoshheykal.
I met Masoud once 2 years ago in the Netherlands and we talked around 10 - 15 minutes and i agree he os a really really nice guy. I just think hes mentally a bit weak, we all know how talented and technicaly gifted he is. He is 30 now so most probaly this Asian Cup is his last tournament. Hope he shines and proves all his critics wrong.

Imagine how decent he would be now if he was not injured for a very long time. Here is a nice video made by our own irani1378 during his early Las Palmas days:
