I must also add that it was so much fun being denied entry into Irans training session while the Qatari TV crew were walking around at will.
I thought a closed session was a tactical thing but if Qatari TV are there then that defeats the purpose doesnt it? Was disappointing not being allowed in to watch the boys train yesterday.

PS, Listen to CQs conversation from minute 7:40 he mentions that Iran played an excellent game against Argentina and had the tackle been done in Iran's 18 yard box, the ref would have called it, It was in Argentina's box and unfortunately the ref didnt call it ! I guess his is hinting at getting objective referring in this tournament....

I would not be surprised if we ended up getting a penalty in the tournament because of CQ

AFC welcomed the arrival of TM to Melbourne.

Iran coach Carlos Queiroz conceded his team have not prepared enough for their Asian Cup campaign, which begins against Bahrain on Sunday.
The three-time champions head into the tournament as one of the favourites despite having played just two friendlies since the 2014 World Cup.
Queiroz's side overcame Iraq 1-0 in Sydney on Sunday, with the win coming three months after they beat South Korea by the same scoreline in Tehran.
Despite saying Iran was looking forward to the clash with the Bahrainis, Queiroz was quick to stress his side's preparations for Asia's biggest tournament have been far from ideal.
"We are looking forward to playing this game against Bahrain, but now it is time to rest and train and prepare ourselves mentally," said the former Real Madrid coach.
"We have not improved since the World Cup. It is worse now because we have not had the preparation we should have.
"When you gamble too much with bad preparation, your chances are not as high as before."
Iran are Asia's highest-placed nation, ranked 51 in the world, and are making a record-equalling 13th appearance in the tournament after securing their place with an unbeaten qualifying campaign.
Despite rumours of an exit following the World Cup, Queiroz decided to remain as coach and is now keen to continue to give his all for the nation.
"I feel totally committed and loyal to the players and their wishes and desires to do well at this Asian Cup," he said.

Today I was expecting two training sessions so I took a day off to go and watch them both as they were planned to happen very close to my place. I got there just before 10 (TM was supposed to start at 10). There was around 20 fans, after some waiting the security guard said the training has been called off. It was a big bummer, there were fans who came from far away or even other cities and they were very disappointed. I went back home to try my luck for the evening session planned at 5.
I got back to the stadium before 5, this time the security guard said the training is on. 5:15 the coaching staff arrived to set the training up. The session was again closed off to fans. Markar and Mikko still took time to take photos with me but I missed Oceano again (only tactical staff left for me to take photo with). Mikko said the players are fit and ready for the game, he was surprised that I asked for a photo, I think they are the true unsung heroes.
TM bus turned up after 20 minutes in their bus. CQ was first to come off but people yelled so hard that the security yanked him back to the bus. He came down again and signaled to fans that the players will take photo after the training sessions. They all went in very quickly almost running away from pushy fans. Similar to yesterday I went and found a place that I could watch the practice but this time the position only allowed for viewing of half the field and security kept telling us off to not look.
Haghighi is for sure the main keeper and Biranvand seemed to be the second. There was no practice match today so I can't even tell you what the main or not main team was. What I can tell you is that there was some serious aggressive offensive play practice going on. They practiced quick transition from defense to attack Azmoun was great but Gucci was just clutch with his clinical finishes. Jahanbakhsh and Dejagah had great crosses, rest of the crosses were so so. Nekounam and Ando were both great with their long range shots.
Nabi and Kafashian came out of the training session first and got an earful from the fans for their incompetence. Although I have no sympathy for these useless individuals some guys were just rude with with yelling in front of little children "Ridid to in team". I did take a photo with Kafashian though who as always was smiling. True to CQ's wordd, players came out one by one with delays between each person to give fans ample time to take photos and get autographs.
Similar to yesterday Haghighi came out first but he kind never stopped to take photos and just walked slowly with fans taking mostly selfies. He was wearing his cap backward and some fan knocked it off his had thinking it would be funny but he got really pissed off and went to the bus faster. I didn't dare to approach him for a photo or an autograph, it was scary. Girls were going crazy for him though.
I took photos or got autographs with/from Gucci, Hosseini, Biranvand, Amiri, Ebrahimi, Ando, Ashkan, Nekounam, Azmoun, Sadeghi, Ghafouri, Hajsafi, Jahanbakhsh. I saw Heidari and Masoud but couldn't get to them. I will post the autographs later. I asked Jahanbakhsh if he is leaving NEC and he said it is very likely to happen soon. I have so much respect for players after this as they were so friendly and patient with rude and touchy feely fans. Sadeghi got taunted massively by PP fans with a lot of 6 sign selfies!. It was amazing how all we needed was just to wait for our turn but people will try to take 50 photos from 100 angles. Will post photos from training and also the autographs.
Next training is tomorrow 5PM in Port Melbourne.Team faghat PERSPOLIS
