Iran vs Iraq post match discussion

I was very impressed with pouraliganji. very cool and composed on the ball, good qualities for a defender.

Young but still needs a few more games to give a fairer judgment of his qualities.

Advantage of seeing the game live is you see the whole pitch and what is around him. Ebrahimi is strong but very poor on the ball, the quality of his passes were very poor and decisioning making again was poor, he needlessly gave the ball away too often. This being said the whole team didn't play too well against a poor side like Iraq, so i am not overly bothered by it.
I also didn't watch the game live, watched the replay. After reading the comments before watching the game I had build an impression that iran's b team is ready to challenge the seniors but after watching the game I was disappointed. I don't think in the whole game we put a string of 5 passes going forward before a mistake crept in. The defence also was not in control and Iraqis breached the line many times, lots of sliding tackles by the defence that the Iraqis just jumped over, lots of long balls from the defence. I understand this was one of the early games by our younger players but they were in s Africa together and played there, so it's not like they have just come together. Of course the potential is there but let's not exaggerate the level of performance last night. We did not dominate Iraq as it was drawn up to be.

I only saw the first 45, and during that time Ansarifard was useless on the left. Rezayan, Pouraliganji and Rafiei looked very good.

rafiei was ok only. people hype him like crazy. He needs to calm down and play his game. We do not play beautiful football under CQ, but he gets us the results. Don't expect anything nice from Iran this AC from a neutral perspective. We will get the results i'm sure, but it will be ugly. i would have liked to see hajsafi play today as well, but w.e it doesnt matter anymore.
            The positive players:
            Azmoun (great fight in him)
ansarifard (he did fine guys, dont give him a bad wrap when he held the ball well and played some decent balls)
Rezaian (He was surprisingly great at RB)
            Pouraligangi (solid on the ball)
Amiri (He was good. He hustled well and put his heart in the game. Damesh garm)
            Beiranvand (Very solid)

With this win if I'm not mistaken we have won all of our games since the World Cup.
I went to Sharif University. I'm a superior genetic mutation, an improvement on the existing mediocre stock.

Very sloppy first half but that was expected since the 11 players were playing their first match together. Same went for the beginning of the second half, sloppy and unorganized, but we picked it up and finished strong.

We could have drawn if it hadn't been for Younis Mahmoud's miss. But to be honest though, that was a bad call by the referee. That did not look like a hand ball to me. Maybe it was the angle of the camera that threw me off, but it didn't look like a penalty. Also, a very nice goal by Azmoun

                    Sardar Azmoun

45 caps vs 24... I don't think anyone in that starting 11 had more caps than Ansarifard.
