He should spend his time learning about Asian football including its history before acting like a know it all and writing articles like this.
Let's just not talk about Iranian legends for one second even though it's quite clear he was something against Iran last few years in his articles.
How the fuck do you miss Harry Kewell in that list?
Younis Mahmoud? Come on. He won one cup with Iraq and not like he outscored everyone in that tournament. I can easily name 3-4 players like Nakamura, Viduka, etc. These players had success every where they went.
I wonder if he has something against the Aussies as well.
However, I don't he has an agenda against Aussies or Iranians. It's just that John Duerden is highly biased every since he got close with Korean football (and his wife?) and is not informed therefore highly ignorant as this list and his other articles show that. You just got Caged

What's the fuss about? It is impossible to satisfy anyone with a list of only 10 players.
Even if the list would be:
Ali Daei
Khodadad Azizi
Karim Bagheri
Ali Karimi
Mehdi Mahdavikia
Vahid Hashemian
Nasser Hejari
Ahmadrez Abedzadeh
Parviz Ghlichkani
Ali Parvin
You guys would jump why he didn't list Ali Moussavi, Dinmohammadi, Yazdi, EnayatiIRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

The MODERN game of football has advanced SOO MUCH in recent years & it now gravely challenges the pure Max Capabilities of human beings FAR more than it did 3-4 decades ago..!!
Frankly I'm not nearly as impressed as i should be with spactacular stats of a player that played his trade any more than 25-30 years ago..!!
i'd bet that#1 ka boom Koon dude, couldn't replicate even 30% of his career stats playing in today's top level football..!!

Harry Kewell is also a big absentee here. As is Viduka. These people played in the EPL and were very successful. Compared to the worst Asian title win ever (Iraq in 2007). It's incomparable. How is Mahdavikia, Karimi, Azizi, Bagheri not there ... Bagheri lead world one year in WCQ goals.
Going to World Cup is much, much more prestigious than Asian Cup win bro.
