    POST-MATCH DISCUSSION | vs. Bahrain - Asian Cup 2015

    Thank your sir.
I really enjoy reading your reports but that part is my favorite. I am not surprised some idiots would try and pull that sort of crap. I bet they will try again for the next 2 games.

Baazi beh baazi behtar mishim. Shojaei had a great game and I was so glad to see that. He has a big heart and always has done his best for TM. Overall entire team played well organized despite lack of friendlies and ect.. Can't wait for our next match with another win against another ARAB team!

im particularly happy for masoud shojaei, this man has been under severe pressure in the last decade to perform as good as he was before. but this goal will give him the much needed confidence boost and more hunger to try his best and play better and better.

The bahrainis ofcourse were more than happy to have one discussion after another just to slow down the game. Think of it as grassrolling 2.0
He would keep talking to them and wouldn't hand out cards the guy that Haghighi took out fouled our players more than 10 times. He definitely deserved yellow and so did that right winger of theirs.

Dejagah again showed us how he is way above everyone in Asia with his skills and control. Poor guy runs a lot during the game as we want to always attack from his side mostly. I hope he stays healthy...So happy he is in our team...

                Folks,
Here is a very good quality HD link to watch Iran vs Bahrain. The only drawback is the Arabic commentator which is annoying you can mute that.
                https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uRGWaT9rgfk

                I have watched this game a few times now. The more I watch the less I like how our team performed;

Team work was really non-existing all throughout the game. Total healthy passes were not more than 2-3 before the possession was lost. Our players looked like they had no idea where their teammates are on the field. You could see the confusion on many occasions. Team looked kinda slow and tired. Defense was often flat footed. Mid field Ball distribution was poor and transitions were very slow. Our counter attacking tactics ... well, I didn't really see anything!

One of the few positives was Pouraliganji who looked poised and impressive. He made good passes, and was instrumental in orchestrating movement of the team forward and looked like he can actually be more effective in the middle than on defense line. Ghafouri on the other hand was a just full of energy with not much substance. He made too many passing mistakes, and was aimless in his running forward with poor crosses. He made Ashkan frustrated with his choices on number of times. There was definitely little synergy between them. I just don't see how he can start him against Qatar with that kind of performance. Another surprising below expectation performance was Pouladi. I wondered if this is the same guy who played against Argentina. Day and night difference!! The Pouladi I saw against Bahrain, was brain dead.

Other problems include; the controversial Shojaee .. If it wasn't for the goal he scored (with the side of his knees), I am sure everyone would have called for his head. He had at least 3 blunters. Two in front of the goal that could have costs us dearly. really didn't do much except trying to go one on one against the 6.4, 200+ils African player, who caused him to go down like a feather. Nekonum and Ando are the other problem. Both are not performing at the level the team expects from midfielders. I see this as the biggest problem in the team at the moment.

I really hope we improve quickly. I realize the game with Bahrain can be considered as one of pre tournament friendlies, but the team I saw didn't look like Asian Champion. The Champion looks like a Champion from day one! ..

Yea i was surprised by the praise Iran didnt really play that well. But thats actually a good thing that iran can play bad and win 2-0. If we continue to improve and actually play well then good things can happen.

Well, if you don't play well but win, you are either lucky or the other side doesn't know how to take advantage of their chances. But if the luck runs out or the opponent gets stronger, then definitely playing bad is not going to produce the result. There is no magic in the formula, I am afraid.
But .. let's hope Iran can improve, as it usually does!

Haghighi knocking that Bahraini player was just uncalled for and it could have warranted him a red card and a penalty against his team. How much I hate such immature and idiotic behavior. I truly truly hope CQ did some yelling and ear pulling on this man. He has a history of such bullying, remember once after Perspolis game, he went into the crowd in the stands and started a fist fight, because he said something stupid? I don't know about Iran, but here in America should a player attack a spectator in the stadium, he will heavily get fined and banned for games, and should the person being attacked press charges, ten we're talking about lawsuits and big $$$$

He needs to keep his cool and act more responsibly. Off the pitch I do not care how he proceeds and conducts his life and how many kids he beats the crap out of, but for as long as he is on the pitch and in an international stage, he is representing, me, you and millions of other Iranians.

actually I liked what he did. In competitive sport you have to show your teeth with smartness and not get caught.
Similiar like Abedzadeh vs Harry Kewell.
If Haghihghi wouldn't do it, that Bahraini diver (same player), who fooled the ref to get a free kick, that could have changed the game for us, would have gotten more Por Roo!
This is a competitive sport. You have to be tough and show your teeth, so long as you dont get caught.

And I dont think CQ said anything on that to Haghighi, if something at all, CQ: "well done, but don't exaggerate, son." Haghighi: "yes Boss, I love you!"

I was watching a Man-City (I think) game a couple weeks ago where someone stepped in front of the keeper and he literally pushed him off. The other player received a yellow for stepping in front of the keeper. Here too, IMO the Bahraini players should have received a yellow for interfering with a quick counter attack.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

I second that, and will third that as well, in few secs.

LOL Amoo jaan, He actually was caught from several angles, and we all know what the consequences f such actions can be in a FIFA post-match game scrutinization, remember Asian Cup 2004 when Nosrati Stomped the Omani star player Imad Ali? well this scene got overlooked/missed by the Bharaini ref Delawar, though this incident was followed by an immediate 4 game ban for Nosrati which warranted him his ejection from the rest of the tournament, not to mention the immediate decision of sending the referee back home (Bahrain) followed by a severe suspension for him.

Imagine if this happened to Haghighi, I bet you anything had this been the case, a vast majority of PFDC and Iranian football fans would have been cussing Haghighi for his action!
