One less Arab team (Kuwait) in the tournement, still 7 left.
50 % of the participating teams are Arab teams. Would be pretty embarrassing if non of them manages to get to the next stages. Maybe UAE and Irak?

My 1-0 prediction was correct btw. Should have joined the prediction thread...

Korea will still be in the semifinal imo.

          Poor performance by the Koreans.
Very very lucky to come up with a win.

Another golden comment from the clowns at Bigsoccer Korea on Faghani's performance:

"Mind you, your Persian ref was shocking and desperately needs to stick to his day job of running the heroin den at the bathhouse..."

No, it's their full-strength squad. If you meant Ji Dong-Won, he wasn't called up because he has never played this season in Bundesliga.

Uli Stielike said he missed 6 key players in the post match interview
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Of the 23 players called up for this Asian Cup, one- Lee Chung Yong went back home due to injury he sustained during the first game and thus will miss the rest of the Asian Cup. Korea changed 7 starting line-up due to minor injuries and cold. However, that shouldn't be an excuse. Very poor performance regardless.

I really hope Korea beats Australia somehow so if we are to finish top, we avoid Australia in the semis. Korea seems like a much easier opponent.

That was his response to a question from a reporter asking why he changed so many of his starting line-up. He basically said he had to because players were not fit due to injuries.

Korea definitely is an easier opponent than Australia! Plus we have more fans

He admitted Korea was very lucky to win this game and said the technical quality shown by the players were "very very bad" in his own words.

Should have stopped being selfish and instead thought about the global community since we are all one and thus parted with your $10.
