Kuwait and Oman's management have really disappointed in this tournament. Both teams have got their tactics all wrong with their negative set-up in both their games.

Kuwait looked decent later in the game against Australia thanks to the sub appearances of Mutawa and Nasser and yet the manager benches the former again for the Korea game and sets his team up to defend when they clearly don't have the quality or tactical discipline to do so. When they were allowed to attack Korea and Mutawa was brought on, they pushed the Koreans right back onto their goal line and looked a different side. I'd be fuming if I was their supporter.

Oman are similar in that they showed prior to the tournament that they're a naturally attacking side who can trouble even the best of teams with their positive play and yet Le Guen who's got serious pedigree comes here and sets them up to defend in both games. Today's performance from them was probably the worst at the tournament so far.

UAE, Saudis and Qatar seem to be the only Arab sides brave enough to actually not go into games with an underdog mentality.

Also, let's not forget guys that Kuwait lost their last competitive match before this tournament 5-0 to Oman and Oman lost their last friendly before the tournament 4-1 to China!!!

They both had serious defensive issues going into the tournament. Even Palestine didn't have such a poor record coming into this. I think we should reserve judgement on Australia (as good as they've looked), until at least the S. Korea game.

Fact: Arab teams vs non-Arab teams so far - 0 wins 0 draws 7 defeats. They really suck.

          Australia 4-1 Kuwait
          South Korea 1-0 Oman
          China 1-0 Saudi Arabia
          Iran 2-0 Bahrain
          Japan 4-0 Palestine
          South Korea 1-0 Kuwait
          Australia 4-0 Oman

But they will still get at least two teams in the quarter Finals since groups C and D have three Arab teams in them

Might be, but not further than that.

Cheering for S. Korea all the way in the next game...

They would definitely be our easiest opponent for the semis, not to mention the team CQ and the boys are most familiar with.

And did I mention REVENGE for the last few AC's?! Or the fact the we only have to play Australia or Japan - not both?!

Japan and Australia show up they gone to win the tournament by the way how they have destroyed their opponents and playing football 90 min .
Iran wants to just survive his group.
We will face Australia or south Korea in semi final and japan in Final, if we can manage our group and win Iraq...
So i think we can l get 3rd or 4th.
Tm remember me the way Greece did in Euro 2004. But i don't think we can reach the final, not with this shity defensive formation and strategies.

I was not expecting such a one sided score line. But I have to agree with the people that it was Oman that was terrible not Australia being great. Still I would like us to face Korea in the Semi rather than the Aussies.

I believe this is the stadium which the final will be held at. I have to admit I am mightily impressed. The pitch alone is worthy of hosting a WC final.

Saudi not have Yasser Al-Qahtani and Al-Shamrani, and also fail the penalty, I'm sure they are the second best team of the group, but North Korea have a good defense, and also a good striker

I dont know whether this means Australia is the real deal or that they are peaking to early? My head says they are peaking too early, my heart says Australia will go all the way.

Whatever happens, factoring in the injury to South Korea key man Lee, this Australia-Iran on Australia Day semi-final looks imminent. What an occasion.

This was a training run. Australia has not even started to play to their potential.

to be honest, it will be a sequel of the Asian Cup 2011 final....both Australia and Japan were impressive so far. We played well under the current circumstances.... I'm quite surprised how bad arab teams performed so far because their friendly results were quite unexpected.
