    POST-MATCH DISCUSSION | vs. Qatar - Asian Cup 2015

"Iran's Yaser Kasim looks a class above his opponents. He has already banked a Man of The Match Award and is bound to have some big performances within him"

You wonder how qualified these writers are at times- so ignorant its unbelievable!

It wasn't long ago where we dreaded playing Arab teams. They used to get under our skin and throw us off our game and draw or beat us. We always played terribly against them. Now we are playing well, not getting fazed by their psychological or playing tactics, neutralising their attacks rather easily and beating them with relative ease and we are still complaining.

We are going to play better against non Arab teams later in the tournament. Both Bahrain and qatar were really physically strong teams, especially Qatar with all their African players, that is all going to ease as we play the Asians.

My only comment about the game last night is that in the last 20 mins we sat too deep. The last defensive line was on the 18 yard box. There is no room for any mistakes there and counter attacks needed to come from deep, a long way out. I hope we can defend maybe 10 or so meters infront of the 18 yards in the following games.

Nekounam, Ando and Shojaei were outstanding.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.

Shojaei is really better in a more central role.

Oh look, that's the same Assie c*nt that predicted Qatar and UAE to go through.

If you really think a wise team like Japan will judge Iran based on one game against Qatar. you are the one who is deluding yourself.

Japan is indeed very worried about playing the top ranked team of Asia. And so should Australia. Its time to show some respect to a team that hardly ever concedes a goal and wins most of its matches, be it 1-0 or 10-0.

Next practice: Kicks! Free kicks, kicks outside the box, etc...Gucci needs to eat more protein and Masoud and Javad need to stop kicking under the ball so much. Havent seen a good kick yet from TM. If we add that, we'll be scarier for our opponents hehe

Great dedication by this lad to support his side. Best part is he can also sneak in to Italy or Hungary games.

Just think back to 2 months ago when Nekounam's free kick against South Korea hit the inside of the side bar.
It's not good enough and certainly not at the level of captain of the national team. He needs to score, or at least send the ball into the box so somebody can head it in. The team needs to fully rehearse these scenarios.

I think we should let Dejagah take some at times, and Hajsafi should take them when on the other side.

It's not like he's missing 10 free kicks left and right. By that token, Dejagah needs to do a better job with his corners after squandering 2 or 3.

As for Dejagah taking the free-kicks, he has done so several times in the past few games without a better result. Nekounam still very much remains our #1 free kick taker.

Nekounam is by far our best free kick taker. Dejagah has a good technique but never scores. Hajsafi is also an option, he's good but again inconsistent.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hajsafi giving the free kicks a shot.
