    Ongoing TM Records...

Hey guys, I thought maybe we can have a dedicated thread to keep track of and discuss some ongoing/current records for TM. I'll get it started and if they require corrections, by all means that's what the thread is about:

Competitive matches = major competitions and their qualifying and does not include friendlies and friendly tournaments

    vs. Qatar:

    * Longest unbeaten streak for competitive matches: 7 (since February 2004)
    * Longest unbeaten streak for all matches: 6 (tied with 2004-2008)
    * Longest streak without conceding a goal in competitive matches: 3 (since June 2012)
    * Longest winning streak for competitive matches: 2 (tied with 1988-1997 and 2004)

NOTE: These are past/previous records to be broken:

    * Longest winning streak for all matches: 4 (1988-1997)
    * Longest streak without conceding a goal in all matches: 4 (1988-1997)

if i am not mistaking we have not lost a "official" match against an Asian team since our lost to Uzbekistan in Tehran 2 years ago.

our only loss came with Argentina and Bosnia.

I believe these are also a current/ongoing records, but do need confirmation from our resident human encyclopedias:

          Azmoun

Youngest player to score for TM in a major tournament at 20 years 14 days (goal vs. Qatar, 2015)?!

          Hajsafi

Youngest player ever to score for TM at 18 years 166 days (goal vs. Qatar, 2008)?!

Hopefully winning the Asian cup without conceding a single goal. That would be an awesome record!

That's right, we haven't lost to an Asian team in a competitive match since that game - 16 games total and longest unbeaten streak since the revoltion and 2nd longest overall (record is an astounding 38 in the 70's to early 80's)

And in all matches with Asian teams, including friendlies, we're unbeaten since May 2013 - 11 games total.

Since the 4 teams per group format was introduced in 1992:

Iran becomes the only team to have finished the group stage with the full 9 points in two consecutive Asian Cups!

This record will hold for at least the next 4 years.

Gucci has matched the goal-scoring record of some TM legends such as, Parvin, Rowshan and Mahdavikia, all of whom played for TM at least twice as long as Gucci has.

He is now tied for 12th place (in the all-time table) with 13 goals. But more impressive is that his goal/game average is the same as two other TM legends: Ali Daei and Nasser Mohammadkhani.

He will go past Hashemian's record with only 3 more goals and 7 more goals will put him in 5th place behind Daei, Bagheri, Karimi and Nekou, all of whom played for TM for more than a decade!

Very impressive considering he has only been with TM for 2 years and 3 months and hasn't got much playing time in the last 7 months!

I said this in the previous thread, but Gucci is probably the most opportunistic goal scorer we have ever had.
