So far UAE has played the games where they controlled the center midfield though the impressive and fantastic display of creativity and passing by #10, Omar A. However, their team as a whole is not very fast and they still suffer from weaker defense (it was just not exploited by Qatar and Bahrain). I think if Ando/ Nekunam or Hajsafi neutralize their center, the house of UAE will crumble easily.

However, Ando will make mashed potato out of him anyhow..... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

It is better for Iran to play a B team.

I personally prefer to beat Japan and SK for the 4th time and then face Australia in the final and win that in front of 30,000 persian-blooded partisan fans.

Here's Iran's wins & losses against Asian Teams. I know records don't mean much in a tornument but it's good to post this for those who have forgotten what a great team we have always been
Surprisingly we have lost 7 times against Jordan which is a lot more than I thought it would be.

This game will be decided by the team who holds the ball and sustains the most pressure from the midfield up. If TM does this, UAE midfield will crack and go for long balls, which will fatigue the offensive line and make Omar's skills non-existent. This is a match where I see a bigger role for ARJ and would not start Shojaie (later as a sub he may be a good option). Opt for speed and direct attack from the centre with good flank support. Lots of quick touches and this game will be ours likely 2-1 or 3-1.Remember RESPECT BEGETS RESPECT & Zob Ahan

Despite accusation of defensive tactics by so called Karshenasan, I believe that Under CQ's tactics team meli is getting as much chances if not more than the team in 98 or 2006, we are just not converting the chances. I hope this would improve as we find each other and get stronger throughout the tournament.
I would love CQ to Use rafiei, rezaeian and Amiri, players that are so hungry to set the stage, prove their talent and at the same time demonstrate their pace.

Folks,
Let's not make this UAE bigger than what it is ... This is more or less that same UAE we have played before. UAE in 2011 was also a strong team. They had Mattar and Abodul Rahman and a better goalkeeper... We owned them and beat them 3-0.
UAE is as much scared of Iran at the moment as our D team would be of Brazil A team.
They have never posted a win against Iran and they know it .. and that is exactly what is occupying their head at the moment.
Beside, if Iran wants to be the champion, then we have to beat every team in the tournament. In the worse case scenario if we tie UAE and end up second, then we have to beat Japan. And that is also we have done so many times in the past. In fact, Japan fears us the most in Asia.
Honda and the Toyota would be thinking how the hell are we going to beat Iran if they to face us.
Relax .. Iran 3 UAE ZIP
