    PRE-MATCH DISCUSSION | vs. UAE - Asian Cup 2015

He simply said that he hopes Azmoun intentionally made that turn, which is a completely reasonable statement.

Aside from that, I really can't predict how the UAE game will pan out. If CQ fields the same exact team as last game I don't think we will be successful, however I think if he puts in fresher legs and alters the scheme of things a bit we will have a comfortable win.

Iran lost 7 times to Kuwait not Jordan

Those arabic flags can be confusing though

It is extremely hot and humid in Brisbane. Like 35C and what can only be described as crushing humidity. I hope this doesn't affect our boys in training and it cools off a bit before Monday....

I know this is unlikely to happen, but I think after his great performances against Bahrain and Qatar that at the end of this tournament Pouraliganji should be offered a contract by some European team outside of the top 5 leagues or relegation battlers.

He plays very well for someone at that age. Usually with defenders, they get better as they age and gain more Experiance.

I watched The japan-Iraq match. Japanese hich pokhi nistand.
We have so many good players. They may not be superstar but they can do great as a team and individually against the best players in the world.

So it does not matter who the opponent will be in the quarter final.
So I consider the next two matches as preparation games and in fact the UAE game is testing some players who did not have a chance to kick the ball in Australia. The tired players and the ones with yellow cards( Shojaai and ....) should rest.

note: The Japanese team in world cup played poorly and this Japanese team is practically the same and had difficulty even beating Iraq. We are much better than Japan and does not matter when we face them. In fact it is better to face the Japanese after an easy game which does not matter.

^ that is also not a bad idea. also same goes for goalkeeper.
It is best chance to let them test themselves.
In fact B team would have done better against Bosnia.
In match against Argentina near the end the players were so tired and Gucci was no match for Messi and Messi took a shot. In those moments CQ also got excited just most of us believing we could win but ideally it would have been better to send in a defender in the last 6 minutes to cover him.
Anyway we have to wait and see. CQ will definitely have a better strategy than we do. We have thousands of permutations/combinations to consider.
                  So leave it to beaver.

Yesterday I meet with the Team and took pictures with them the few points that shocked me were

__Mohsen The goali has a full left arm selve tattoo which shocked me cause I thought it was not allowed to be shown

__CQ is hands down the most polite and fan loving coach I have met, he loves to interact

__Hasem is super sweet and innocent

__Ando, Neku, Ashkan, masoud, Haghai always dress to impress

__Seyed jala Azeri is on point haha

__ Is Ramin Rezaian Armenian or where Aziz is from cause his last name has ian and his eyes looks like aziz haha, very nice guy though

__Ehsan needs a fashion stylist haha this dude does not know how to dress fashion

__Sadar buying some gucci shoes, and glasses, Ashkan wearing Jordans, and CQ wearing shorts and flip flop was harmonious

__ Overall the team atmosphere is perfect everyone interacts and gets along

Did you really watch the game? Despite the scoreline, it was a very comfortable win for Japan and just a reconfirmation that they are the team to beat. But I'm glad that they only beat Iraq 1-0, which could have been much more easily. Now that Japan is still in danger of elimination, they need to play against Jordan with their A team.

                          yes,
I did watch it. I would not call it a comfortable win since it was a dumb mistake by iraqi player that gave japan a penalty. TM can handle the Japanese and Iraqi teams well. I compared the players we have with the Japanese and we are better one by one, start with goalkeeper, all the way to Dej and Sardar. A head and shoulder above the Japanese.

                          But time will show anyway

just heard on the halftime report during the korea vs Australia game "Dejagah, Pouladi, Pouraliganji, and Azmoun did not participate in group practice. Azmoun was because of injury, but he should be prepared for tomorrows practice", nothing said about other 3 i am guessing they were being rested ?

Some Iranian media claim that CQ didn't let PAG to enter group practice today due to disciplinary reasons. Very bad news, if true.

Besides the penalty, Japan had many chances to score while Iraq struggled to create a single chance. Saying our players are better than Japan one by one sounds a bit of exaggeration when most of the players in Japan's first eleven are starters in the top European leagues.
