Well this result makes it clear on whether we should rest players vs UAE or not and the answer is a clear no. Only Hajisafi and Shojaei should be rested because of their yellow cards.

If we beat UAE our path to the finals is infinitely easier than if we finish 2nd in the group. Hopefully we beat UAE as we typically do and make a deep run.

I watched highlights of the Korea and Aussies, One mistake cost the socceroos the game. But Aussies passing was unbelievable and Korea was lucky. this should of been a draw if Aussies could finish.I think Iran will have issues with Aussies speed and passing.Korea look good too.I just haven't been totally impressed with Iran's play they are too selfish especially against Qatar, it could also been lack of games with eachother but Listening to post game interviews Heydari even called out Gucci for not passing the ball.

            Just watched the highlights.

What is up with Australia and flying insects? You couldn't watch 4-5 seconds of the match without something flying in front of the camera.

Folks, for Iran, it doesn't matter who we are going to meet on our way to lifting the big prize. Korea, Japan, Australia, Uzbeks, all we have left crying before and there is no reason why we cannot do it again.

Remember this is football not mathematics, everything is possible!!

this is honestly such a stupid way of thinking and is being said by too many people here. Sure maybe what you said is right but it is obviously easier to face a team like iraq in the quarters rather than japan. Just look at past asian champions its very rare the team plays 3 top teams on the road to the championship.

Jabbari is not the only one bad mouthing CQ and the national team.

You should listen to Khodadad Azizi who is also making inappropriate comments about CQ and TM in general His remarks on Sardar and the skills he showed scoring the goal against Qatar were totally mind blowing!

Who the hell are these people? No wonder CQ said, football in Iran is not professional. He is right. Look at the people involved in Football. None are professionals.

Yeah, I don't know what a lot of people are thinking. It's not even just about the 1 game, it's facing all the Asian giants one after another with 3-4 days rest in between! It's not a difficult mission we should prove we can overcome, it's an impossible task we should not even be thinking about.

The boys were already fatigued in the Qatar game with HUGE gaps in midfield and this issue is only going to get worse when every game going forward is a must-win game and requires being completely focused giving it 100% with the scorching heat and humidity.

Iran should top their group, meaning more resting, playing in sydney semifinal and final and facing iraq instead of Japan. All words today are worthless if we do not top our group. By topping our group, we also force Japan to win their group to avoid us and Korea and Australia in final (if these teams advance in the next stages) so we must dictate Japan to win their group too.

every game is a different story. suppose you dominate a game and get scored on late in the game because of a penalty and lose. does that mean the team that lost was bad and the other team which won via a penalty in 90+1 good? not really. a lot of accidents can happen in a game of football. There is a lot of luck involved and so many other things.

even if we lose to uae, which is probably not going to happen, that dosen't mean we suck and don't have the quality to defeat japan or Australia. every game is a different story. we are ranked first in asia and we definitely have the quality to go all the way and take it all.

Sydney people put on a good show? Please don't make me laugh. There was only 50,000 of them present in an 80,000 stadium for a major International sporting match. I refer to Match Day 2 of AC2015.

and then to compare it with Wembley when England plays and the crowd doesnt stop singing for 90 minutes.

You need to watch more football man or maybe remember to take the tv off mute the next time Manchester is playing or there is a game at Wembley.

How is NOT having to play Japan AND Australia a poor result.
Why are you comparing a 1st round Asian cup match to a do or die knockout match?

When Uruguay came to Sydney and lost (I was there btw) for WC 2006 the Uruguay players described it as one of the most intimidating places they've played in. And those guys travel everywhere in South America. The Uruguayans were rattled because the fans wanted payback for missing out in 2002 and it was hostile. Wembley is no clubs home ground that's why it has no edge to it in the FA Cup final and ive been to 2 FA Cup finals. There is no comparison.

No doubt Aussies have some of the best fans in the world. They're a genuine sports nation.

I have been to many games in australia. Rugby league, union, aussie rules, cricket and soccer, i have to tell you the aussie crowd is not intimitating at all. I was at iran vs australia game in melbourne, the 75k aussie crowd was not imtimitating. Aussie crowds are there to have fun.
