I am seeing CQ is using the group stage to prepare the team instead of friendly games. Unlike what he claims Iran has prepared very good otherwise poor ganji was not doing so good with the rest of team. Still he has not shown his optimal team. Likewise we may see a different South Korea or Japan next round but so far best teams have been Australia, Iran, South Korea, Japan and China. four of these will be in semi final. China, Iran and Australia have played som good games to watch.

i think iran is trying to figure the players, jahanbaksh hasnt played yet, i mean he will be super fresh if we get to extra time and we wil have 3 hard games, iraq, asutralia and japan in knock out stages, if we get there, jahanbaksh will play uae, and will play well against the other 3 games, i think australia for the 2 games has been the best , then china, iran, japan.but we have to see how australia does tonight against korea, china has done well but i dont know how far they can go. Iran has played well so does japan.

North Korea is more than just happy to be in the tournament!
They were once an Asian Powerhouse, and before their neighbours S Korea, reached the semis at WC 2002, North Korea was the only Asian team, whoever reached the quarters at WC 1966!!!! they have a history!
Also not till late, they were always a candidate to qualify for world cups!
So, I dont accept the ranking: North Korea happy to be here!
As far as Iran is concerned, I am a little bit cautious for the moment! We had terrible preparation and no decent friendlies, hence we have to improve game by game! And I hope we get there, where we actually belong = TOP TIER!CHECK OUT OUR FORUM RULES HERE: http://www.persianfootball.com/forums/faq.php

Australia and Japan are playing very fluid, clinical football as of late. Japan could've beaten Iraq by 2-3 more goals had they had even a sliver of luck. Koreans have looked particularly flat, though, and I would rate us above them. However, football is football and you never know which team is truly better until you see them clash. I for one would look forward to a game against Japan and believe that it will be the truest test if we are ever to have an aspiration of winning the tournament or making the final. One thing I have an uneasy feeling about, though, is the UAE game that I think will have potential to cause problems for us.

I dont think iran the favorites, i believe the socceros are the fav followed by japan. I know iran has played well but they have been great defensively but Irans finishing is still very very weak.We havent seen anyone stand out as a striker after daei and hashemian retired. In the future we might again but at this moment i think irans front line isnt championship material.

Australia by far the most impressive. But they're yet to be tested against a decent team, can only judge them on their 2 games so far, they run for 90 minutes and passing was excellent.
Japan has also been pretty consistent, they control the ball like no other.
Iran has a decent chance too, we've seen them perform against the best (Argentina) so its possible. I believe because of our mean defence we can win any game.
GRACIAS PEP

A win for the Koreans tonight will definitely increase our chances to reach the final. Playing Australia in the Semis in Sydney on Australia Day (huge deal here in Australia) won't be easy at all, against Korea on the other hand we have the mental edge and I genuinely believe that we are better than them. Japan and Australia are without a doubt the two favourites, we just have to hope that Japan face Australia in the semis so one gets knocked out while we face the Koreans.چو ایران نباشد تن من مباد

I was thinking like you, but on the other hand Koreans are mad to beat us and that can get ugly! While aussies can easily get over confident after their easy ride vs Kuwait, Oman and get the shock again vs us!
So, I am tending to want an over-confident Australia in the semis rather than a blood hungry Korea....!CHECK OUT OUR FORUM RULES HERE: http://www.persianfootball.com/forums/faq.php
