    Ok.. and your point is?

Stop giving negative posts. Yes, it's boring, yes it's defensive, but it's 3 wins and 3 cleansheets.. stop complaining and get behind the boys for once

      POST-MATCH DISCUSSION | vs. UAE - Asian Cup 2015

Great win but that was poor. Commentator said he hasn't seen any team so far with such low percentage of possession at half team than Iran.

UAE had absolutely nothing in this game except the passes between the defenders and midfielders, but were toothless upfront. What were we scared of to play so defensively?... especially since we needed the win. This mentality of going into every game as if we're playing Germany or Argentina regardless of the quality of the opponent is extremely worrisome to me. What's next, shall we approach a game against Palestine in the same manner? We should've been all over this team from the outset and not allow them so much time and space to do whatever they wanted. We basically had no offense today. I can't see us winning the cup like this!

Definitely feels good that we won!

But defensively, we didn't press well in the first half. & our passing was just 'bezan ziresh', hoofing a hopeful ball. Can't see us getting far, but kudos for the win.

is possesion the only thing?if it was we would have gotten 0 points, possesion is stats, when greece won the euro where they good at attack no, but defesnivly strong, also UAE had 0 shots on target, that poor for a team with 70%possesion

-Amiri was very impressive. He couldn't be stopped by the Emarati defenders at all....his only problem is that he was too afraid to shoot. Perhaps it has something to do with all the complaints he got from the Iraq friendly In all seriousness though I really thought he was a pleasant surprise for us.

                - Reza is clutch is always. His hunger and determination up front is what got him that goal, it's really an unmatched characteristic even in comparison to Azmoun. Total warrior up front, it'll be interesting to see if CQ will opt to go for Reza or Azmoun in the next match. I think he will go with Reza.

                - Pouraliganji had a redeeming performance in comparison to his last match. Very solid all around with key interceptions and tackles. Better than Hosseini today IMO.

                - overall we gotta be happy with the 3 points, but just like the majority I don't like how conservative CQ a was being. UAE showed they are a much improved and decent team but they are by no means a top dog that calls for defensive tactics. On the contrary end I though CQ a was brilliant on deciding when to sub and who to sub. Each sub had a positive impact and gave us a boost we needed. Kudos to CQ for that, but we need to step it up if we want to be legitimate contenders for this cup.

this shows you that stats do not really mean anything, UAE totally dominated us in passing and positions, but for they still loss

Sideline reporter for IRIB also mentioned how CQ said that he didn't care who he faced the next round.
I noticed both of these things too. Nekounam "how do you feel" "I am happy" lool in a angry tone. Not sure why, Ando also was overly tense in the interview and the miscommunication between him and the interpreter was kind of funny when he said let me talk first

Number of Shots doesn't show anything. Look at our procession, turn overs, number of passes, pass accuracy, etc... One lucky last minute goal doesn't change facts.

Amiri annoyed me. Great dribbler, but always making the wrong decision in the end or a poor pass.

Oh, and long live CQ, another classic of his. Didn't Mahdi Ali watch an Iran game before?

I'm surprised no one has mentioned this yet: ZERO goals conceded in the first round while getting the whole 9 points! Resultwise we can't complain!
