For a reason it feels great when winning every game 1-0 in this style rather than defeating teams with 3-0 lol. Call me weird but this kind of football Iran players brings much more drama, excitement and joy.

It seems some fans mentioning that 1996-2000 team crop was better and current players would be "benchwarmers". I think many are disregarding that the players we have now are not bad and that they specialize/built in other parts of football. Just because you do not like defensive football does not mean the players are bad and would be benchwarmers 1996-2000.
I believe that the players we have are actually very good, they seem to have implemented CQ to the field. Except that passing part (which is more to do with training camps/friendlies).
We often do not like changing something because we get used to the way things are and start getting used to them being that way. The human mind is very lazy and once it is required for it to accept change it becomes all angry/disappointed. The change in our football is that we once use to play "beautiful open,fast pace attacking football and now we play beautiful defensive/effective counter strikes (with passing underconstruction).

Congrats everyone, but that was definitely one of the top 5 most stressful displays I've ever witnessed from TM and on the exact opposite end of the spectrum from the "beautiful football" CQ promised before the game.

I'm sorry, I've never used the phrase "park the bus" as far as CQ's tactics are concerned, but if you were to define that in the dictionary, it should go along with TM's stats from this game. Less than 30% possession in the 1st half against freakin' UAE!!!!! 400+ completed passes for them and less than 100 for us?!!!!

If there was a prize for making shitty opponents look like Argentina/Germany, CQ would win that prize hands down every time! God bless Gucci for always saving TM's, CQ's and our a$$es with a moment of brilliance, but CQ's gotta stop being a one trick pony in these pressure situations, grow some kohunas and let the boys play like they did in the last 10 minutes.

We were tactically ZERO in this game, the Australian commentators were getting frustrated with us , and if it wasn't for the boys relentless effort and some Iranian style gheyrat, we would be all but guaranteed a quarter-final exit from the tournament once again.

I don't want to pick on individual players, because when you don't have the right psyche you're not going to perform well, but why the hell did Amiri play 90 minutes in this game and what the hell has happened to JB?!!!

But isn't this what Ghotbi did and yes we did win the group, but lost to Korea and got kicked out even before we got warmed up!!! CQ is CQ for a reason people!! He just didn't happen to be chosed by Alex Ferguson for his good looks, the guy knows his shit( cant say the same about our people here in the forum , including me!) I rather play ugly football and win as opposed to play gorgeous look pretty and lose! Also remember that CQs hands are tied whenever it comes to preparation, we had 2 friendlies, as opposed to 12-14 for our rivals, we are doing the absolute bare minimum but getting the most results. I say CQ is a genius, wouldn't you!!??
