Well, to be honest, I'm afraid that, although Jahanbakhsh is a great player, he isn't the right player for Iran's playing style. Iran plays defensive football, long balls and becomes especially dangerous in set pieces. Jahanbakhsh is great at fast, offensive football with a lot of passes and backs that play offensive football.
Although I do think that Iran's defense is really powerful and therefore that it is logical that Iran wouldn't play extremely offensive, I also think that against the UAE Iran was playing too defensive.

This is a great thread so thx for starting it.
1. Hajsafi has performed better lately and is better defensively and fits our tactics better but he has a yellow. So playing him is risking not having him in the semis if we get there
2. Jb hasn't been impressive lately but to be fair he hasn't had good partners to link with him. I would play jb to give him more confidence and experience and sub hajsafi if we need to. This is mainly based on our friendly with Our b team beating iraq and thinking iraq game should be relatively easy, although no game is easy
3. Cq will most likely start hajsafi as he wants a full strength squad to start against iraq in the elimination game and to come up with plans if we have suspended players later. Either choice has its risks but what good is hajsafi not getting a card if we don't even make it to semis.
