I always thought it would be the best to have a vatani head coach and to make Quieroz his assistant. My top 3 candidates would be Ghalenoei, Daei and Mayeli Kohan. Firouz Karimi or Korbekandi would also do. I really really think with a Vatani coach + CQ as assistant we can reach the semifinals in the next WC. Also im not fully convinced with Jahanbaksh. Quieroz should have talen Gholam Reza Rezaei instead, hes faster than the ball.

As long as we win our games I am convinced. Not to mention the solid defense we have developed under his reign. Credit must be given when it's due. Some people often wait for the moment to jump the gun and crucify. Did we play unattractive football? somewhat yes we did. Did we not win while playing somewhat unattractive football? yes we won. Do I prefer attractive football over result? Hell no I don't!

Instead of giving you a long analytic post like other friends have done over here I'll give you s short and sweet response: if you genuinely are still "waiting for CQ to impress" then you will be waiting for the rest of your life or perhaps until he wins the World Cup with Iran.Team Meli Iran

I don't think I have ever had as much mixed feelings about how we play as I usually am cut and dry with my opinions. This asian cup has bothered me despite winning the group because I truly believe that these teams do not deserve the respect that we are giving them. 23% possession in the first half vs UAE today is an embarrassment. I was particularly frustrated that we were in a must win situation and with 5-10 minutes left we were still not pushing numbers forward. We got the goal, but most of the time it won't happen like that and I know that we could have dominated UAE easily with more aggressive tactics.
I like several things CQ has done with our football especially when it comes to professionalism and mental toughness of our players, but I think he underestimates our players and doesn't know the damage he is doing to our reputation amongst these asian teams when we park the bus against Bahrain, Qatar, and UAE. We won but I don't feel like it..I want to feel good about the way we play, win or lose.

Originally posted by hzv View Postwho said he hasnt done anything? he qualified iran to the world cup. he defenately is not the most accomplished tm coach in history, that one is just simple math but if he wins the asian cup then you got a case if he loses to iraq in quarters he should be fired,if he loses to japan or korea in the semis then again he has done nothing special to be even mentioned as the most accomplished coach in tm history. even if he takes us to the final and loses he has taken us to the next level but as it stands now and until we count the joojehs he has been one of 4 coaches that qualified us to the world cup.
He qualified Iran to the world cup, yes......as first place in our group. The only other manager to do so was mohajerani.
He has kept a clean sheet in the group phase round of the Asian cup, again I'm not sure when Iran did that before.
In WCQs we conceded 2 goals in 8 matches.....that's conceeding one goal in every four matches on average. Again I don't think any other TM manager has had such a record.
Now shall we bring up his 9-10 game winning streak against Asian teams? Again, something no other Iranian coach has done, check here http://www.persianfootball.com/forum...-breaks-record
My point is that CQ is undoubtedly a very accomplished coach in his time in Iran and has revolutionized our football in many ways that I think are obvious. To name them it would be trying to instil a level of professionalism (kicking out the bache porrous in Rahmati and ag holi at crucial times) in our football, bringing in foreign based players, and putting us back on the map after a very dark time in our football (2009-2011).
If you'd like to continue ignoring all these facts because of lack of possession or something silly like that then by all means go ahead, but here they are laid out in front of you.Team Meli Iran

I make it short!
I respect everyone's oppinion and point of view, but as far as my view is concerned:
I have never seen in my entire life, since the first day I started to watch Iranian football, since many many TM generaitons ago, a TM as organized, as defensively reliable, as tactically smart and convincing TM as this one!CHECK OUT OUR FORUM RULES HERE: http://www.persianfootball.com/forums/faq.php

Great post, I just have one problem with it... you forgot to talk about how terribly Shojaei has been performing and how that slow, clumsy, sissy, bigheyrat bache-naneh has no place in TM. Other than that you were spot on, I am so jealous of your exceptional tactical understanding of football... please teach us your ways.
