Foreign worshipers. Anyone who is from outside of Iran is right because they are from "kharej". Basically having zero confidence in your own people.

This is the same mentality that makes people worship Davari, Hasegawa, and other average to below average foreign based players who have no place in TM simply because we have much much better players domestically.

    I'll tell you this.
If GN was team coach and we parked the bus against barcelona (sorry i meant UAE) then you and other foreign lovers would be cursing them off as incompetent morons. 37% possession against UAE. Are you kidding me?

If Daei kicks out Karimi from TM, then he's an unprofessional "khalezanak". But if CQ (or another foreigner) does it, then he's cleaning out the cancer.

If GN subs a GK in the 118th minute for PKs, then he's out of his mind and needs to go to a mental institution. If Van Gaal does it, he's a genius.

Anything that CQ does, you and your type will support. Eyes closed to everything else. CQ is GOD. Very dangerous mentality.
1.Without Ghoochannejhad, we would have not qualified for the World Cup 2014. He saved us on many occasions. He was raised abroad in Europe to be precise. He holds dual nationality, so he is a Dutch-Iranian. By your logic, Ghoochannejhad also falls under the category ''foreign worshipping'' since he is raised in the Dutch football system.

2.I'm sorry, below average? Let's take a look at the plain hard facts. Ghoochannejhad played in the Belgian 2nd division at the time he was called up to Team Melli. So how instrumental has he been for Team Melli? He has been our goalgetter and saved our ass many times. He was also decent during the World Cup scoring the only goal for us. Average? Below average? Simply ridiculous to say such a thing. Daniel Davari played in the Bundesliga against decent teams week in and week out. At the time he was in decent form so he got called up to Team Melli not because he was playing in Europe, but because he had a good row of performances. If he would be called up only because he played in Europe, he would have been called up way earlier since he also played in the third division of Germany. Stop exaggerating. Btw, do I need to remind you about the fact Azmoun was excluded from the squad at the World Cup while he plays in Europe? In contrast to him, Ansarifard played in IPL and he got called up instead.

3.Ghalenoei played nor effective football and neither beautiful ''attacking'' football as some PlayStation4 analysts call it. He had one of our most talented squads during 2007 and he failed miserably at the Asian Cup 2007. Losing to a South Korean-B team in the Quarter Finals while even all Korean fans were expecting a heavy loss against Iran. Ghalenoei's record at TM is simply pathetic and not to be compared with Carlos Queiroz.

4.Says who? Daei is not relevant in this case. Karimi just has some issues with authority, whether it be Carlos Queiroz, Ali Daei or whatsoever. Carlos appointed him, it didn't work out, let's move on. At least he is not provoking Team Melli like Rahmati is still doing during many interviews.

4.Putting Amir Ghalenoei in the same sentence as Van Gaal.

5.Not really, actually. We have lots of critical persons of CQ and they admitted that CQ was doing the right job when we qualified for the World Cup. Even the supporters of CQ which I am, dare to say he has done some questionable decisions in the past. The loss against Lebanon in Beirut is still unacceptable to me and I also criticized Carlos for that. His tactics against Bosnia weren't that good as well, but the positive things he has done overall outweigh the negative. To me, that's the reason to support CQ. I am by no means a blind supporter, I can think rational and I admit he is a human who makes mistakes too. You guys are always black and white. It's extreme, there is no in-between.

Seems some of us either don't know what points are brought up in critique of CQ. Or if they do, they pretend to have misunderstood and hit Ali chap lane!

Unattractive football is one thing. Not showing much of a coherent plan is another.
Chelsea when facing better teams plays very unattractive, ugly football. But not for a second do you doubt they know what they are doing when they go forward, even on those rare occasions.

But when you look untidy and incoherent in your forward moves and just send balls here and there HOPING SOMEONE WOULD DO SOMETHING (in other words, relying on INDIVIDUAL acts to get the job done), then that is beyond mere ''unattractive/ugly'' football. That's simply clueless or half arsed plan football (even if for defending and bus parking you may look like overlords of mystic land of footbarnia).

You either don't know this difference, in which case your ignorance may be excused (and you arrogance in commenting, not). Or you do know, but failing to come up with a correct response, you try such irrelevant diversions.

Much like when one asks for sensible and sound forward looking tactics, some suddenly (and shamelessly) bring up ''careless and reckless all attacking 2-2-6'' kind of argument!
Rather sad, if you ask me.

It doesn't matter what happened yesterday, and it doesn't matter what happens tomorrow. All that matters is today and the match at hand. TBH this is CQ and TM's first serious test. The UAE match really had no meaning since both teams had qualified already. Now the pressure is on, now the intensity is even higher...now it's do or die. Our last do or die was Bosnia, and it went terribly wrong for us. This time around let's see how our lads and CQ perform against a weaker Iraqi side. Hoping for a decisive victory to send a clear message to the rest of Asia...we are here to win it all!

Besides Japan over the last maybe 10-15 years, no Asian team can ever confidently assert that they have had a coherent game plan day in and day out. Adapting strategies and tactics particularly in attack is not a strength of Asian football, and that is why it is now undoubtedly the weakest confederation after Oceania.

what i want to know i guess is when has TM ever played attractive football? absent moments of indiviidual genius, it's been ali-asghari since i started watching in 1998...there were moments in Iran-Yugoslavia in WC98 where we looked good, a few sequences vs. Mexico 2006..honestly otherwise, WHEN has TM ever had a "plan" moving forward?

It's like Dr Doom has nostalgia for something that never happened lol

The most attractive football I saw from TM was from the 70's. Even though I wasn't even born then, I have watched tapes from matches then and to be honest, you would never guess that those teams were from Asia. But their have been other times. Matches against KSA in the 90's particularly leading up to WC Qualification in 98 were spectacular displays of team play, individual talent, and determination.

Sorry..I'm just really upset and think we could have avoided today's situation if we played a different kind of football

There was 0 way we were winning that game. I knew it the minute Mahmud reminded that asshole referee to give Pooladi a red card. It is not our fault we were fucked by horrible refereeing today.

If we had any other referee today, we would have won comfortably, as no Asian team can score on us in a fair 11 v 11 match.

After some sulking and absorbing this loss, its time to look ahead and prepare for the WCQ's.
And I do believe CQ is just the man to lead us to Russia 2018.
