That's why it's best not to criticize the refs too much, although sometimes it does make them more sympathetic knowing that a lot of calls may have gone against you.

It does of course make sense to select refs for each quartefinal bracket from countries that are not in that bracket. So, Irmatov will likely officiate the Australia-China game and Sato the China-Korea game.

Those are the best 4 in the continent IMHO. Although Mohamed from UAE is a possible alternate to Sato.
    Bad Decision.
UAE officials believe some kind of unfair play for selection of Ref from Japan for Iran vs UAE. Now selection of Iranian Ref for Japan vs UAE will cause further tit for tat suspicion.

Why didn't they fire the uae coach? He said the same thing about the ref of Iran UAE game.
Any way I think we will that game with ease unless they fine Iran with a lose

i am sure the other half of the ticket will be ours, but look at the bright side,if we go to sydney for the semis,we can see 30-4-k iranian in the stadium, since iran play semi and hopefully both in the same stadium

So, I just have to watch it at home and delay my meeting for an hour if I can. If not I will miss the 2nd half.
Im trying to convince the Iraqies and Iranians at uni to gather up in a classroom and see the game together at 07:30 in the morning! :P

Can we close this thread for now? Already four pages and the game is in 3 days, lol.

I'm not too worried about Iraq. They really do have the worst offense out of the remaining teams (averaging 1 goal / game and considering they were grouped with the tournament's worst team) and TM is way better rested - both in terms of the number of days and considering we sat out a few players last time.

But we do need to have a little more sense of urgency in offense in this game. We definitely don't want an exhausting 120 minute game or going into PK's (even though Iraq are probably the worst team in the tournament for that).

The saving grace is that we have already played them and CQ knows them well, so I think he'll be a little more comfortable going for a more pressing game and being adventurous with offense.

why? it's quite easy to handle this thread!

                    1) the 1st page is important for match details

                    2) the last page is important for celebrations

Iraq won't be more of a threat than Bahrain.
                      Iran 2-0

He could even say if they beat Iran they would win the world cup. Since the first part is false the statement will always be true.

                          Can Iraqi defeat TM?

                          yes , they can , if ;
we underestimate them , or take it as an easy mission .

But , can we defeat Iraqi Team ?
                          yes , we can .

How we can defeat them ?
                          - stop the strength points in Iraq :
younis very old , but good in the high balls .
not allowing them to inter our goalie area to avoid PK , or FK.
mostly they will defend , especially at the begening , so we have to secure the game by scoring in the first half.

                          i think , TM can defeat Iraq 2-0 .

Lol at the people that were rooting for iraq in the group stage. I never knew iraqis hated iranians so much but some of the social media posts are pretty bad. Hopefully iran destroys them.
