You win as a team and you lose as a team. This is the same Pooladi we all praised during WC. Many factors can be blamed...the biggest one today is the ref. But also, did Iran practice PK? Iraq apparently practiced them for 3 days. Where was the dominance of ARJ that was on display in Holland. He was literally a non-factor except for his gut saving us once defensively. Tactically, should we have had a different formation when we went 1 man down, why not start a match of this caliber with 2 strikers rather than leaving them all alone up front. What about moving Dejagah to striker when Azmoun left the pitch, and only bring Gucci on so many minutes afterwards, leaving Dejagah burnt out?

In the end, we were 10 men, and the ball is round. I feel we were robbed and I am sure CQ will have something so say about this. The emergence of Ghafouri, Amiri, Azmoun, PAG in this tournament is promising, but now I feel we need to transition some more youth particularly in preparation for when guys like Nekounam, Shojaie, Ando step aside.

The biggest part of the match, Iran played with ten against twelve men. And Iran only lost in a penalty shoot-out. This is something to be proud of!

This is just a sick feeling. it sucks because we played one of our best games so far and had to lose like that. We were on a pattern to score many more goals and one small bullshit mistake like an early red card is gonna change the game. all that being said, i am so proud of all of our players. They put on a world class mentality and never lost hope. We just have no luck when it comes to knockouts, the coin always shows us the wrong side.

Stop with this no ref dishes out a second yellow so soon in the game, he will give the player a chance. If you want to be fair, ask why he didn't show a yellow to their goalie for retaliating?
