Until this game the graduates of PS4 Academy were screaming we have no way of coming back if we concede. Today we came back...TWICE...IN EXTRA TIME...WITH TEN MEN... Something I had never seen us do under any other coach. And they're still not giving up...

      mashalla be khoda. mashalla.

We lost and only lost to the F****** ref. There is absolutely no blame on any of the players or CQ. In 2004 Sattar Zareh got a straight red for what exactly the Iraq goalie did today, and today Puladi gets sent off for being pushed by the GK!!!!!!!
How many times do we miss AFC trophy because of ref. I am sick of this to death. I am totally shattered.

              Mind your attitude buddy!

So what if The ref was against us and what does that have to do withthe iraqi team??
Did you watch the game? Do you call our team respectable?
Who wasted the most about of time?
Who kicked the keeper first and went grass rolling first? Pouladi if you need a reminder!

Did you see the Iraqis kick the ball out seconds after our player fell on the floor in pain!
Or is it your bias that prevents you from seeing it from a neutral perspective?

If you want to deny the existence of luck, that's fine, but it is part of the game and we were not lucky at the end.
What??? I can't belive my eyes! U seem to be cheering for the Iraqi team rather than on Iran??? Who the hell are you???? Arabi ya Irani????

this is a planned faith of TM, China Cheated in 2004 to get to the finals at the cost of iran, Australia Cheated now to get iran eliminated using their referee. They only way we everyone going to win the asian cup is to host the tournament.

Every asian country that host it, cheats to stay around as long as possible.

LOL aussies on reddit are tearing ben williams apart, apologizing to iranians and saying that now we can commiserate with the level of a-league officiating.

If my ethnicity matters to you, then you've answered one of the questions in my freaking comment!
You're biased and can't see straight!

Otherwise you could counter with some facts to prove me wrong!

First of all I want to praise the fighting spirit of this team. Fighting to the end with only 10 players. Obviously this retarded referee was the main reason for our loss. Life goes on and we need to forget about this tournament now and try to improve on club level.

Both the yellow card and the red card on pooladi were ridiculous, but to be honest Pooladi could have avoided both of them. I know it may sound harsh but I would blame most of our defeat on him. I mean why did he throw himself down on the ground for that push. It was completely unnecessary and the bitch referee took the advantage and sent him out.

I have always supported CQ, even after the lebanon and uzbekistan loss (WCQ). In the first half we played really good and Sardar scored a great goal. Before the red card it looked like an easy game for us.

But the reality is that we only reached the quarterfinals and this achievement could even an iranian coach obtain.
Our squad is much better and with these players we have not impressed in this tournament at all, facing problems against Qatar and UAE. One reason can be the bad preparation.
It is time to start thinking about if it is worth to have CQ as coach. Personally for me you should be able to get better results with this squad which includes foreign based players and players with premier league and la liga experience. Japan was playing around with Iraq like a bunch of kids. Honestly we lost against an amateur team today, and no excuses. But once again I want to praise the fighting spirit of this team. If i could describe this game with one word it would be "sad" because the better team (TM) lost or "disappointed".

Half of our regime must be happy with this result as they are Iraqi's anyway. Larijani's, Naqdi you name them.

Having calmed down (just slightly, I'm still seething) and tried to look beyond that disgraceful red card decision, I think it's a fair argument to say that we may have made easier work of the tie if we'd been braver, particularly after the hour mark. I'm not saying we definitely would have won or we definitely should have did this or that because that's idiotic but I can't help feel that they were there for the taking after running out of steam after the hour mark. Even with ten men, every time we went forward we troubled them, it wasn't just a miracle that we got two incredible responses when we needed them most.

Proper down though. Are we likely to lose CQ now? The fast road to mediocrity is not something I'm looking forward to if we fail to keep him.

SO TRUE!! reducing a team to 10 men for 75 minutes and having the other team score two goals using the empty area where that exact player position would be is completely unrelated! i'm sure if it was 11 v 11 and we had a left back then it would be 6-0 iraq.

what a joke man, get outta here.

Yes Japan played with them like the amateur team they were...
Now do you think if CQ was managing Japan, Japan would be playing like Iran or like Japan??

And you mention foreign-based players as if you're talking about Team Melli between 2000-2006!
                                Liga BBVA or Liga Adelante?
                                Eredivisie or Eerste Divisie?
And by legionnaires, you mean the ones that got sent to Qatar and Kuwait of lack of European offers?

                                Who are we kidding?
These players are not as good as the other 3 top teams of Asia and through team play, they mange to have top four performance in Asia.

To be hones we're at the mercy of China, KSA, UAE, Qatar and Jordan that have not stepped up in the past 10 years.
China and UAE might mount a challenge to our top four status in the next two years.
