Karimi probably had a sh!tload of assist too, even our worthless Jabbari has scored 12 goals in 37 games in UAE in all competitions, averaging 0.324 goals/game, while Omar has 0.297 goals/game in the league as you mentioned, where overall in all competitions Omar averages 0.252 goals/game for his club.
Yep phenomenal goal scoring record for a midfielder. Karimi is definitely good. Never said he wasn't. At PP until the age of 23 Karimi had 0.372 goals per game which is great in a better league. Too bad IPL doesnt seem to store assists.

So the record you mentioned was from 23 to 27. Lets see what Omar does in the next 4 years till he turns 27.

I asked below to prove that Karimi is better and your post goes a long way to proving it. Thanks for that.

I was never against Karimi in this argument. I just wanted to know why so many were so quick to write of Omar.

considering it is D grade blog, i find this very amusing. Because personally i dont think this guy watched the full game, just the highlights.

Omar is a very raw talent, he is being made to look good, Yeah he beat a player here and there, so did Amiri. He Xavi esque passes were good, but what did they create? not even a shot on target.

Watching the game on Foxsports Australia, the commentators (Robbie Slater) were in Awe of Omar and thought UAE dominated. After they game it cut back to the studio and Sasa Ogenovski said "yeah, they dominated possession but did nothing with out. Everytime Iran went forward you thought they were going to score, every set piece you thought Iran were going to score, UAE failed to create any chances, they did nothing with the possession" then all the analysts agreed with him.

Get use to the facts, people don't like Iran and will write rubbish. UAE made over 500 passes, but spent majority of the game in there half passing between the backline. They played for the draw, they knew they couldn't beat us.

I was at the game and then watched it again at home and I still think he was good. As did all the people around me.

I also agree not much happened with what he did but I blame his team mates for that and not him. Imagine if Ashkan, HajiSafi, Gucci or Sardar were at the end of his passes?

To look so good in a not so good team can be very easy and it can also be very hard.

I agree not much happened, but Irans bloody defense has been awesome this tournament.

Call me stupid but I believe Karimis career was a wasted career, so while his individual skills were amazing, maybe best in Asia why is Omar no Karimi?

Happy to be proven wrong......Actually please give me some justification of why I am wrong cause I loved Karimi as a player and it breaks my heart he has very little to show for it.

          Omar is still only 23
what has omar done to be compared to karimi? you see 3 games from him in which he did not lead in goals or assists and he deserves to get compared to karimi? asian player of the year karimi? karimi the asian maradona? come on omar is a very good player, his passing is sublime but he has waaaaay to go before he gets to karimi. also karimi is a heavy weight dribbler omar is not even a dribbler so the comparasons is wrong however you look at it. karimi is a legend, omar is a rookie. no comparaison.

Man I love some simpletons. Why dont you read through the thread before barging through the door to argue when all you heard is the last sentence.

First of all it wasn't me who compared and I simply asked what has AK8 done to become a messiah for us. Which was answered and I now have no argument with. Karimi was a gun.

Secondly Omar is only 23 and Karimis genius begun after he turned 23.

We give Arabs crap for bias but some of us are just as bad. I started out by saying he is an amazing player and has potential to be the best in Asia. I dont even think I said of all time. Just currently, and it progressed to this.

Generally in a tournament when a new player shines it is spoken about. Its just funny how everyone refuses to discus this kid and the potential he has for all to see. Football is about good players and amazing individuals. Some of you are going out of your way to bring this kid down and I think it is undeserved.

Its not fun discussing non Iranians on this page cause the bias is too strong.

simpleton?! respect is a two way street respect yourself. you asked me in the spirit of politeness i answered but if you got your answer already great. no one is bias we all praised him as areal talent, i talked about him on more than 3-4 occasions and no one has a problem with a good player being talked about but to call him one of the best asia has ever produced is just stupid wrong. to say he is no karimi is not bringing him down in fact if anything we brought him too much up.

Omar is really gifted and a player who could become ONE of Asia's best players, but please stop comparing different type of players with each other.
Karimi is Karimi and Omar is Omar and they both play football. Besides that they have nothing in common.
The type of player u could compare him with is Sadeghian, Mobali or Navidkia.
