        Let's beat Iraq first.

But i agree. I don't se us winning vs them again. Every streak comes to an end.
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

I read the strange stat somewhere that Uzbekistan has 7 main players suspended due to yellows in group stage. Can someone confirm this? If so, Uzbekistan is out for sure.

No, they have 7 yellows, but no one is suspended. If any of those players get a yellow in this game and they advance to the next round, then that/those player(s) will be suspended for the next game.

                  -------------------------------

I don't even know who to cheer for in this game. Part of me says we know S. Korea and we're consistently beating them while we lost our last game to Uzbekistan, so Korea would be the logical choice.

But another part says, do we want to play Korea again and isn't Uzbekistan the weaker team both on paper and the way they have played so far.

I suppose the ideal situation would be Uzbekistan winning with 5-7 suspended players for the next round!

I feel like Korea and Iran have historically been so closely matched. Us having won 3 in a row against them makes me believe that Korea is due for a win against TM. For this reason I want Uzbekistan to win.

As Yoda said in Empire strikes back: Fail you will when you ultimately cannot see yourself winning!.... Come on!!!! Stay positive!! We will win!!

Dude, how many times are you going to bring this up!?

NO cards got wiped after the group stage. All single yellow cards will get wiped after the quarter-finals. Red Cards and Suspensions will NOT be wiped out at any point. That means:

                            * If a player picks-up a red card in this round, they will miss the remainder of the game and the semi-final at a minimum (it can be more).

                            * If a player picks-up two yellow cards in a game in this round, they will miss the remainder of the game and the the semi-final.

                            * If a player who already has a yellow card (from the group stage), gets another yellow in this game, they will miss the semi-final.

                            * All the other players who have a single yellow card (whether from the Group stage or this round) will start the semi-finals with a clean record.
