I find that myself - and almost all TM fans - are already looking ahead to the semifinals without realizing that we have an extremely tough opponent ahead of us in Iraq. This Iraq game is going to be extremely close and contested because they play a similar style to us and can match us physically in the air etc.

Having said that, I do NOT want to play South Korea again. There's a lot of bad blood. They'll be extremely motivated for the last 3 losses, and theres NO WAY we can outmatch their motivation. It's just human nature. Plus, they've knocked us out of 3 of the last 4 asian cups...I dont want to bow out to them.

      GIVE ME UZBEKISTAN!

I really like this UZbak team....they have a lot of fast players..If their defense can play a little tighter like we do, they can beat SK. Although Koreans are playing to just play iran lol they want to kick are arrssseess soo bad...haha

Wonder how many own goals we're going to see tonight!!! There were a total of 5 goals in the last two meetings between Korea and Uzbekistan and 3 of those were own goals!!!

Who says UZ will be easier than South Korea?

I don't think anybody thinks that Uzbekistan will be easier. I think most of us are just sick of playing S. Korea over and over and over again. That, as well as the disdain most people have for their coach, players, bigsoccer Korea fans, and John Duerden.

After Iran, I don't really have a favorite for the tournament. However, South Korea is the one team I'd like to see eliminated ASAP.

                No offence to nmissis.

I actually believe Uzbekistan will be easier. Not much, but still easier than South Korea

ofcourse Uzbekistan would be easier. Beating any team, particularly South Korea, 4 in a row is NOT easy.

Iran will feel more confident if Iran wins South korea the forth time too. I think another friendly game with South korea is already booked.
I think UZ plays modern style football and in some years will be a powerhouse in Asia. They have been part for Euroup before and their mentality is stil European. I wouldn't be surprize if they win South Korea.

Guys, don't forget that S. Korea have lost two of their key players already in this tournament. Think of us having lost Nekou and Hosseini. They're definitely not going to be firing on all cylinders in this game and it's only going to get worse for them going forward.

What I don't like about Uzbekistan is that they're a very inconsistent and unpredictable team. Unlike Korea, we really don't know what we're going to get with these guys... one day they're losing to Qatar 3-0 and a week later they're beating UAE 4-0!!! That was only 3 months ago btw.

At any rate, what I do know I want in this game, is a very hard fought, very physical and tiring game for both teams and lots of yellow and maybe a couple of reds wouldn't hurt!

I root for any team to beat the S Koreans ..!But doubt Uzbeks can beat them
We match up pretty ok vs current SK & likely will beat them again narrowly if they come @ us again attacking, their finishing is subpar & no team can get any more than a 2-3 decent scoring chances vs TM in a game ..!
The only way I can see us loosing to SK is in PKs ..!

We should be equally if not more favorites to beat Uzies too..!

Only an unusual major letdown or a weak PKshootout stands in our way of a Final appearance ..!

Their defense is shaky but they are good everywhere else.

Yeah, they're offense can be good Saeed jaan, but like I said they can be very inconsistent. They had problems breaking down Korea and missed a lot of chances, couldn't do much with China and then beat the Saudis 3-1.

Overall, I think they would have problems with more organized and defensively packed teams like the S. Koreans or TM. They do remind me of the old TM, playing passionately but being too all over the place.

Uzbekistans style of play is more dangerous for Team Melli, Whoever we play it will be a very tough match.
