The truth also is that the last 3 times we played korea ,they were the better team but we got the
    Result.
The fans can pray all the want about us facing them in semi finals and revenge etc... But the other
Truth is also that we have the mental upper hand over them as well
I am telling you they are scared of TM

they have one more day to rest though.

Although thats true, Korea has broken our hearts 3 times in the last 8+ years by eliminating us from the WC and 2 Asian cups. I just want to see them eliminated at our doing. We may be ahead on our head to head record against them but they have caused us far more heartbreak than we have caused them.

Its unfortunate that the scheduling affords them one more day of rest, but at least they had to go 120 minutes today in a hard fought match. We can take some solace in that

I missed the 1st 30+ minutes of the game Camran jaan, but based on the comments from Stielike after the match, they didn't play that well. And Uzbekistan was in my mind the better team from minute 30 until minute 90, although Korea did have some good chances.

A few things made a huge difference for the Uzbeks and ultimately to the result of this game, which made Korea look better than they really were:

1 - They got 2 yellow cards in the 2nd half, both of them for key players who were already sitting on a yellow from the previous round, and both playing on the right side of their defense (center left and left back). This took away a lot of their ability to play the same physical game they had been playing. Both of those guys were already out of a potential semi clash, both of them could have been ejected in this game and any of their other 5 players sitting on yellows, could have been sitting out the semi with one bad tackle. Ultimately, both of the plays that led to the goals started from mistakes on the left side.

2 - Overall, the Uzbeks were very slow in taking their chances and shooting the ball. This had pretty much been the theme for them in the tournament, playing against tightly defensive teams. So, the results were very different when they got all the time in the world to do their thing than when they were shut down quickly in defense. Not to mention that when you play a counter-attacking game, everything has got to happen real fast in offense.

3 - They also had an early sub before minute 30, which really compounded their issues going into extra time.

4 - Either because of 1, 2 & 3 and fancying that they'd be better off going into penalties, or because they were completely worn out after the 90 minutes, they went into a completely defensive shell in the 1st half of extra time. Essentially, they made the exact same error that we made against Korea in the last Asian Cup and the same error I hope we avoid this time. When you've been playing 90 minutes and your defense is already tired and half of it is sitting on a yellow, the last thing you need is to let them be the line that absorbs the pressure.

And for that reason, they eventually had a complete collapse in defense toward the end of the 1st half of extra time, where they literally handed the ball to Korea twice in quick succession in and around their penalty area. It would have been harder for Korea not to score off that! And the 2nd goal was in the last minute of the 2nd half of extra time when the Uzbeks were throwing everything at it to get the equalizer.

Moral of the story is, Korea are a safety first team just like TM. Their fitness levels are amazing and they're very quick as they always have been. Their weakness is that they do have serious lapses in their defense. If a team puts enough pressure on them to have enough of those lapses, of if they're good enough to take advantage of a few lapses (like we did in our last two games), then they're very beatable.

If you sit back too much and give them room to do their thing without constantly keeping their defense in check and letting them move of the field too much, they'll eventually get the ball in the net by brute force, like they did in this game. And they'd be capable of doing that to any team in the world that doesn't challenge their "safety first" philosophy.

That advantage has already been wiped out by the extra 30 minutes they had to play. As long as we beat Iraq in regulation time (fingers crossed), I consider both teams even in terms of recovery.

No need to call names like that
IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

If we do get to Korea - I am not optimistic.

An UNMOTIVATED South Korea that had already qualified to WC2010 tied us. An UNMOTIVATED South Korea that had already qualified to WC2014 came ready to kill us in Ulsan. They've lost to us 3 times in a row, feel cheated, feel they're the better side, and are going ot come out motivated as HELL to kick our ass in the semis.

Honestly guys I have never been this pessimistic about TM's chances against an Asian side. A motivated South Korea is a scary thing. They've knocked us out of 3 of the last 4 Asian Cups and sadly I think this'll be another.

If we get passed Iraq we will beat S.Korea

And I strongly disagree,Koreans have always been motivated to beat us even in a friendly match becoz of our huge rivalry in Asia

Did you not see how they were worse than arabs in creating hashiyeh and fights every time we play them

I am telling you from a psycological stand point , we own them.

                            I share similar opinion.

I highly doubt that the same tactics which miraculously worked 3 times in a row will work a 4th time against them.

I really thought Uzbekistan had more coordinated attacks. They gifted SK with the first goal and simply did not finish. This SK defense has big holes.

wrong! they were not yet qualified when they played Iran( although they were on top of the table)!and had to wait for the result of the other game ( Uzbekistan-Qatar). if Uzbeks had scored 2 more goals SK were out. but I guess they just payed Qatar for 5 goals!
