The only problem is that other referees don't have the balls to consistently card players for such acting. Brave to Ben Williams.

After more thought to this, Ben Williams made an innocent mistake. He gave pooladi the second yellow with actually realising it was his second yellow, and he was forced to give him the red then.
In retrospect, he might done otherwise if he knew pooladi was already given a yellow earlier.
Poor guy must be feeling pretty bad about himself. And I wondered why that referee in Europe committed suicide.
If you believe in luck, then it's fair to say the win wasn't meant to be.

If Ben Williams was a real man, he would've rescinded the 2nd yellow card to Pouladi once he realized his mistake. That's what a man would've done. Admitted his mistake, and take it on the chin.
That's probably not legal according to FIFA rules, but he should've subjected himself to FIFA punishment. Instead, he took the easy way out, gave Pouladi a red-card, and sacrificed the happiness of 70 million, just to save his own ass.
Not a man. Not a real man.

Not to mention not booking a single Iraqi player when the fight broke out!
its hard to tell if he had an agenda, but based on the evidence it is likely.

John Aloisi at half time was asked about it, he said "Ben Williams hold grudges. I remember from ehen I was playing and coaching, we had a saying, if you have any chance to win keep Ben Williams happy and be nice"
He went on to say, "After carlos criticised him, he has held a grudge and that's why he's done that". In premier league keeper would been send off for the push.

This is a conspiracy against Iranian football. And don't tell me I'm Iranian, I'm Kuwaiti and I follow Iranian football. Crossing off Mohammad Nouri, Ghassem Hadadifar, Mohsen Mosalman, Payam Sadeghian, Iman MobAli, Gholam Reza Rezaie, Mohammad Reza Khalatbari, Mahdi Sharifi, Rahman Ahmadi, and calling the likes of Mehradad Pouladi, Masoud Shojaie, Javad Nekunam, and Ali Reza Haghighi is something beyond our understanding. This is betrayal at it's best.

And yet AFC selects this guy!
What a joke. Australians themselves say this guy is incompetent, but AFC loves him.
