I am proud of our boys, they did a good job throughout the tournament, the UAE team some of you guys resented TM for beating them with only one goal, managed to knockout the full squad Japan side, thus reaching the Semis. It's football and anything is possible, we lost, but I think we bowed out in style and proud. We proved the true meaning of resilience.

Too bad the second yellow card was absolutely uncalled for, as it absolutely seemed that Benjamin Williams had forgotten that Pouladi already had a yellow, otherwise I doubt he would have issued the second yellow that easily!

Iraq played much better

Against a one man down team indeed, on the contrary of how you see this match, I personally everything taken into consideration thought with a one man short, we played courageously and real good, coming back from a goal down twice and at the end lose the match only on penalty shootouts.

Although we are out I still can't come to terms with it. The display of passion and desire to continue was outstanding.

We were the best team in this tournament just like we were in 96 and 04. And all three times, outside forces did not allow us to become champions.
