The most distributing thing is reading some posts and also reading Iranian coaches' interviews post game. They are having a go at CQ and blaming his tactics. They are saying that he was too defensive against Iraq?!!! as if Iran was meant to attack with 10 players. Breaks my heart seeing what type of people live in our country and hold positions like head coach of Perspolis. No character, no integrity and above it all no decency.

I am still fuming and I truly don't know what to say.
It just hurts that all that hard work and all that fighting spirit from our boys can be ruined by one stupid man. All it takes is one idiot and everything is stripped of us.
What did Iraq do before the red card? Did they even have a shot miss the net? They had absolutely nothing to say for the game.
And then comes the first booking. Pouladi's first foul, no warning, nothing. Yellow comes out straight away.
The 2nd booking I have no comment on. The guy had no idea what the fuck he was doing. Booked Pouladi and then started running away like a retard until he slowly realized he just absolutely killed the game and TOURNAMENT as well. Fuck this guy.
Team Melli fought tooth and nail, and i truly thought the football gods would lay down the hammer of justice for IRAN for once. After the 3-3 goal it seemed like it was written in the stars for Team Melli to win this game, and give a big "EFF YOU" to Ben Williams and every other piece of garbage that has ever tried to bring us down unfairly. However once again the end result was heart break for our team.
Nekounam did not deserve to end it all like that. Williams not only killed a game and tournament, he also struck a blow to the end careers of some of our players.
The video of them crying at the end also crushes my soul. This was truly a group of tight knit players / staff and I believe some people don't realise how rarely this occurs in our football.
This was a robbery is every sense of the word.

Re: Shame on us
Maybe some of you should watch some Australian tv where football pundits are embarrassed that the ref is the same nationality as them.
Pooladis first was NOT a card. He arrived a split second late to a challenge. And while Pooladi play acted the fact is he was pushed. Why nothing to the keeper and why in all the simulation EVER did the ref chose this moment to stamp it out. I saw an Iraqi player tell his team mate to stay on the ground as he was getting up fine and he complied and fell over again....in front of the ref. Where was the yellow card there?
Consistently bad is better than bias and last night was biased reffing
It wasn't COs fault, the players or The Mullahs who im sure some Shahis are blaming as they do even when someone farts on the other side of the world.
Its a consistent few who constantly blame Iran on this site for everything even when the world sees something else.
Its getting old

I have to agree with Ando_Teymourian.
For me, Nekounam is my all-time favourite Team Melli player and it tears me apart to see how his career will end with the national team. I always envisioned seeing him breaking Daei's record at this tournament and lifting the cup in Sydney to mark off a brilliant career. He never had the flash or natural talent of Ali Karimi but he was always a hard worker, and progressed through the ranks to become a leader and the face of this team. In a system where so many only think about themselves, Nekounam has been both selfless and inspirational.
For me, there are no better ambassadors of Iranian football than Nekounam and Mahdavikia.
15 years of service for Iran and this is how the career of a legend ends thanks to the decision of a useless piece of trash. I'm completely broken.

As CQ remarked in his interview, he can not express his feelings about the ref and they are things that he can't do, but it's IFF's job to do.
I think he means IFF exerting more influence in the AFC.
We have to have a long term view, I'd say a plan for WC 2022 and 2026.
When we don't have a handful of standard quality stadiums and pitches in Iran, how can we expect miracles?
It will be a miracle like 2007 Iraqi Asian Cup championship. Almost a fluke!
They can not back on going to the World Cup or winning Asian games other than with extreme luck!
We can do better than that.
We should pick Japan as a role model and put a real effort in making our football professional by investing in building it from the ground up.
We can't bring world class chef and give him cheap ingredients to make the best dishes.
We need to grow a garden and provide the high quality ingredients, only then we can expect constantly good results at the end!
