Having seen the game once again the only thing CQ did wrong was not asking the players to leave the peach.
All the Iraqi goals were scored because we missed one defender. Two goals were score from the left side. Otherwise
maybe he could use Hajsafi in left defense. Instead of Dejagah he could sub shojaei with JB change it to 4-4-1 defend
and keep the 1-0 game. But that ciould have gone wrong too.
We were not suppose to win admit it

      Here is my honest opinion.
On one hand, CQ brings professionalism, discipline, high team-spirit, and an excellent defensive set-up (Ironically that failed us today, although we were playing with just 10 men - Some of the youngies did not seem fully integrated!)

When looking at this aspect of the game, hands down in the years that I have been following TM, we haven't had a coach be able to do this as good as CQ. Being able to fire up your players is an important aspect of coaching.

However on the other hand, i totally disagree with the tactics involved - Today when Iraq scored, we pushed up and eventually got the equalizer, yet fell back again into defensive mode, and guess what, THEY SCORED AGAIN! Unfortunately we were 10-man so today you could make an exception but we all know how CQ's tactics are - They are in favor of defense rather then offence, and when it comes to asian opponents, this is definitely not the tactic i want to see.

It is a hard decision because CQ brings so much to the table, but i dare say (contrary to popular opinion) his tactics have let us down in this tournament. This is my honest opinion - And it is pointless to counter-argue this because we don't know how we would have done if we played with a more offensive mindset. So there is no 'right' or 'wrong' here.

Gutted that we lost though - I only had a few hours of sleep and woke up early to see this match, I was so sure that we would win even though I knew it would be a tough game. Especially because everything seemed to play right in our hands when we scored that first goal, only to be fucked over by the referee minutes later, and then everything played into Iraq's hand.

Lets park the bus against Maldives if we play against them in the WCQs. And of course if we play San Marino in a highly anticipated friendly we should also play defensively. You never know their players in the Italian 4th division may suprise us.

I knew some of you opportunistic CQ haters would use this excuse to try and axe CQ's job as TM coach. A lot of begheyrat vatani coaches are also probably licking their lips waiting to blast CQ.

We lost 10 men in lottery time! Iraq couldn't put us away. This is in no way CQ's fault. We have this never give up attitude engrained in our psyche now and we play cohesively. Not only should CQ not be fired, he should be supported after this match. I genuinely believe we would have gone to the final and won it had we not been deliberately derailed by the officiating.

Your thread is baseless. You and some other members have been notorious CQ haters. This thread could perhaps be warranted if TM had an epic collapse against Iraq. If anything due to the circumstances, it was Iraq who nearly collapsed thanks to our well coached TM. The team was absolutely admirable today. They should be supported as should CQ.

honestly ask yourself, under any other coaches and with the crazy amount of talent we had, does any other iranian team fight back like that?

no. A lot of his defensive tactics are frustrating i'll grant you (I, for one, am still annoyed at how poorly we played against UAE offensively). That said,
especially given the lack of structure. you aren't going to get someone better and he has worked pure magic with what he has been given.

if we lose him it is going to be insanely difficult to replace and make world cup qualifying very interesting (and probably not in a good way)

Is this thread some kind of joke?
Did some of you not even watch the match?
Did you not see Iran controlling the play until pouladi got the 2 most undeserving yellow cards ever?

How about the fact that we didn't concede a single goal in this entire tournament until that red card?

This is the best and most organized team Melli we have ever had,and it's ALL DOWN TO QUEIROZ.

Look at the amount of respect we have earned from FOOTBALL EXPERTS AROUND THE WORLD for our performances under Queiroz, yet some of you guys who don't have half the football intelligence of these experts are actually questioning whether queiroz is the right man for the job.

                    UNBELIEVABLE.

I have only monitored this forum and haven't posted on it in ages and the COMPLETE RIDICULOUSNESS of some of these comments has actually forced me to voice MY opinion for the first time in YEARS.

Sure. Mayeli-Gohan and GN are both ready to take TM to the word cup.

Honestly this question is really stupid at this point.

Someone one close this thread already.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

We are talking about the past 3-4 years not just the iraq match.
Because what did we earned respect from experts around world??
To end up at button at group with just 1 goal and 270 min defensive kick and rush football?
Or because the great performance and results during the Asian cup ?
