How about the fact that we didn't concede a single goal in this entire tournament until that red card?

This is the best and most organized team Melli we have ever had,and it's ALL DOWN TO QUEIROZ.

Look at the amount of respect we have earned from FOOTBALL EXPERTS AROUND THE WORLD for our performances under Queiroz, yet some of you guys who don't have half the football intelligence of these experts are actually questioning whether queiroz is the right man for the job.

    UNBELIEVABLE.

I have only monitored this forum and haven't posted on it in ages and the COMPLETE RIDICULOUSNESS of some of these comments has actually forced me to voice MY opinion for the first time in YEARS.
    right
add to that the Fact that ALL 3 Iraqis Goals were Scored from the Same Area of our Defense, where Usually it woulda been POULADI Stationed to Contain their Attacks..!! In his absence Haj Safi although tried was not able to cope with the extra Attacker ...!! well 2 goals from there and their PK conceded when they penetrated on the Left side of our D..!!

For WCQualification i only Trust Carlos to Lead us Successfully Against all these systematic factions in Asian football operating so blatantly against our progress ...!!

    FAGHAT CQ...!!

the 'lack of preperation' argument is BS,
Iraqis were preparing by running on freeways because of ISIS

But the reality is that we only reached the quarterfinals and this achievement could even an iranian coach obtain.
Our squad is much better and with these players we have not impressed in this tournament at all, facing problems against Qatar and UAE. One reason can be the bad preparation.
It is time to start thinking about if it is worth to have CQ as coach. Personally for me you should be able to get better results with this squad which includes foreign based players and players with premier league and la liga experience. Japan was playing around with Iraq like a bunch of kids. Honestly we lost against an amateur team today, and no excuses. But once again I want to praise the fighting spirit of this team. If i could describe this game with one word it would be "sad" because the better team (TM) lost or "disappointed".
Maybe it would be better if those 4 millon dollars were put on preparation or some kind of investment.
Seriously? Teams adapt - They fix their issues through analysis. Iraqis had studied TM defense from our earlier games in WC and this AC. They knew they had to by-pass the TM DM to remove one BIG layer of defense. They used longer balls from the midfield on and were impressively good and technical (so lets not discredit their game).
The Japan you referred to was just eliminated by UAE. Had the stupid referee not changed the game dynamics, I have no doubt Iran would have won the game handedly. We wore toying with Iraq before the red card.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

On one hand, CQ brings professionalism, discipline, high team-spirit, and an excellent defensive set-up (Ironically that failed us today, although we were playing with just 10 men - Some of the youngies did not seem fully integrated!)

When looking at this aspect of the game, hands down in the years that I have been following TM, we haven't had a coach be able to do this as good as CQ. Being able to fire up your players is an important aspect of coaching.

However on the other hand, i totally disagree with the tactics involved - Today when Iraq scored, we pushed up and eventually got the equalizer, yet fell back again into defensive mode, and guess what, THEY SCORED AGAIN! Unfortunately we were 10-man so today you could make an exception but we all know how CQ's tactics are - They are in favor of defense rather then offence, and when it comes to asian opponents, this is definitely not the tactic i want to see.

It is a hard decision because CQ brings so much to the table, but i dare say (contrary to popular opinion) his tactics have let us down in this tournament. This is my honest opinion - And it is pointless to counter-argue this because we don't know how we would have done if we played with a more offensive mindset. So there is no 'right' or 'wrong' here.

Gutted that we lost though - I only had a few hours of sleep and woke up early to see this match, I was so sure that we would win even though I knew it would be a tough game. Especially because everything seemed to play right in our hands when we scored that first goal, only to be fucked over by the referee minutes later, and then everything played into Iraq's hand.
you do realize that playing with 10 players, even the best teams in the world, cannot sustain a full attacking game. You had 45 minutes of regulation time, and 30 minutes of extra time with close to 15 minutes of injury time all under very hot temperatures while being down 1 player. What I am telling you is not rocket science, but it's just common sense.

The fact that were able to equalize the game twice should be enough hint for you that we are not a one dimensional team, and that we are a team that can come back from behind. It was proven twice playing with ONE less player.

And, if it is "pointless to counter-argue this" as you put it, then why even post.

As I mentioned in the post, I am not specifically talking about the Iraq game.
I wrote it is pointless to counter argue, because the difference between you and me (and others in the forum) is that I do not attack members, call names, say they are stupid, for having a different opinion to mine. Members here are downright disrespetful to those that disagree with them.

To prevent being attacked i mentioned this.
Posting here is a very part of freedom of speech, to be able to openly discuss ideas without concern of being attacked or being called out for. Unfortunately, in this community we do not have that - And yes - That is disappointing.

What i meant is that there is no right or wrong. When it comes to football tactics, it is quite opinionated. Again I do not shove down your throat that my opinion is the correct one. I simply write what i think and don't attack anyone for having a different opinion then mine.

                                The example set above.
Look, even if it might sound ridiculous for you that we have a certain opinion, you should try to be respectful, and understand that people are different.
The world would be a boring place if we were all the same, and there was no diversity.
