For those who don't want to believe "conspiracy theories"

    http://www.smh.com.au/national/asian...22-12w2fz.html

It's plain and simple: AFC is corrupt beyond belief. There are no conspiracy theories: matches are getting decided off the pitch and Iran is getting screwed because they're not paying up.

As Martin-Reza's thread says how many times do we have to be knocked out by referring decisions that in Europe would lead to investigations and given the corruption that goes on criminal charges

I typically am not a big fan of conspiracy theories whether in sports or politics. However, what Ben Williams did today was absolutely deliberate. It is very hard to not believe something was up this game. Whether due to a personal vendetta or whether he was motivated by a third party, Ben Williams intentionally derailed our Asian Cup campaign...

If Williams had felt any remorse about his "mistake", he had a perfect chance in the second half to eject the Iraqi defender on a second yellow for fouling Amiri as he was on a break away. That he didn't take that chance speaks volumes.

AFC is a typical Third World corrupt organization. The main reason we keep getting screwed in the knockout stages of tournaments is because we're the only heavyweight without any financial influence. This influence could easily be bought, but IR would rather flush that money down the toilet in Lebanon and Palestine.

In the group phase of the WCQ prior to the final group stages we had to win Qatar while Bahrain had to beat Indonesia in order to advance to the next stage.

Bahrain, of course, managed to beat Indonesia 10-0 but nothing happened from AFC.

What do we do from here? The problem is that we can't do anything from here. We can complain to FIFA. However It is impossible to complain, because FIFA is corrupted as well.

I remember Bin Hamam wanting to take charge of FIFA from his top job in the AFC. He tried to use the dirt of FIFA in order to dethrone Sepp Blatter and look what happened:

The only way to move forward is to do it Qatar style, by bribing your way up. Other than that we should never excpect anything from AFC nor FIFA

It's too much sour grapes here. There was nothing outrageous in the referee's performance, unsensitive perhaps, but not outrageous. Pooladi throws himself to the ground like he was hit by a canon, I'm sorry but that was ridiculous play acting from him, especially considering he was on a yellow. The mistake that the referee did was that he forgot that Pooladi was on a yellow but once he realized this he had already pulled out the yellow and there simply was no way out but to pick out the red card.

Let's be proud of our boys for the fact that they played almost an entire match with 10 men and were literally inches away from progressing to the semis. If we had won the PK shootout no one would have said anything about the referee.

There is no conspiracy against Iran, we've just been unlucky the last couple of years. After all, it was hardly the referee's fault that our player missed his penalty.

i personally think that in this case it was a personal vendetta as well, but what ever it is he gets away with it and has gotten away with similar things in the past. This speaks volume about what happens in AFC

if you think that the refereeing decision wasn't outrageous then there's nothing to argue about on that point!

But just to get my point across clearly:
Corruption does not necessarily mean match-fixing and paying the referee to send a player off at precisely the 40min...
              It could be paying to make sure you have the referee that you want;
or some official thinking that it'd be hilarious to have Williams (who according to the Australian experts has a history of personal vendettas) referee a match after a coach has complained about him
or simply a lowering of the quality because no-one actually gives a damn about doing a proper job and is more considered about the kickbacks

You don't have to search hard to find examples of unbelievably poor referring in Asia (although clearly your opinion will differ on this matter), or serious match-fixing allegations so the point is there is corruption in AFC and when there's corruption anything can and will happen---this is not a conspiracy theory!

                disagree ,
this is football , mistakes is part of the game ,
                referees always making mistakes ,

sometimes the mistakes comes in our favor , sometimes mistakes comes against us .

there is normal mistakes and there is big mistakes.

                the last 2 examples :
1- alhilal ( KSA ) lost the champions league for big mistakes from japani referee ( now , he is banned ).
2- UAE scores 2 unlawful goals against qatar in the current Asia cup.

                regarding pouladi ,
i think , he deserve the yellow card for misbehavior , when the referee comes to him asking him to stand with no intention to give card to him , but he keep pretending injury , so he deserve the card for this not for touching the goalie.

That wasn't a mistake. Mistake is making a bad call. There's absolutely no precedence for what Williams did here - he didn't make the wrong call, he made a call that's not in the rules of the game. He may as well have walked over to a player in the 1st minute of the game and handed him a red card for no reason.

We see how it is. Its only a mistake if it happens to a member of the PGCC.
