^ I agree we tried hard.
But I'm marking about looking at EVERY venue possible, which just happens to be the most glaring and alarming one as we got hit repeatedly from it

The thing is when we pay big bucks to a big name, you are entitled to expect a higher quality coaching and decisions that the regular coaches may miss. But here, our expectations are at the level of GN or other vatani coaches ... all the while some fans use his famous name as a hammer to hit on any criticism!!!! Just doesn't tally.

A member here said Koreans would rather meet us, cause you know we deserved it and are the better team, is this true?

IRI's politics is no different than handling a pressure cooker ..... As the pressure builds up, you slowly let the steam out just a tad bit so that you don't see overflow, and once the pressure from below is less, you put the lid down again and raise the temperature.

Honestly, those people who believe this team did not "play hard", or "play without gheyrat" should switch to watching synchronized swimming.

throwing around words like "higher quality coaching" or "better decision making" makes you sound silly. It really does. What does that mean? Does it mean that a coach like CQ should be in synch with your "coaching" beliefs? The game was mishandled by a physical education teacher/baffoon who thought he was more important than the game itself. In these difficult conditions, we came back from behind, TWICE with 1 man down. CQ brought in Gucci, who scored. He brought in Amiri who played very well, and brought in JB, who had his best game at both ends of the field. These were quality substitutions. Once again, to expect an all attacking game for 80 minutes, down 1 player, is a silly idea.

To be critical is ok, but to be critical for the sake of being critical makes you again, look silly. There have been games in the past, where you could question the decision making or tactics. This game was not one of them. Sometimes it's better to swallow your pride, admit you are wrong, and simply move on. Not doing so makes you lose credibility ...... and let's be honest, ...... it is shrinking in an alarming rate.

Of course you can't affect what the ref bugger does. But You take care of what YOU are capable of and what's in YOUR purview and duties.
It's not my coaching decisions. It's about failure to react to the same thing when repeatedly it happened.

Yes, his subs played well. But none of those actually addressed the main issue that Iraq used to exploit and hit us.

Pooladi is the strength of TM defense and that garbage ref knew it and was on a mission to weaken in good and he did.

10 men for that long and we kept coming back. Players running themselves into the ground.

I couldn't have been more proud of the performance last night and the crowd as well. I have never ever been a part of something so amazing.

We just showed so much heart. No gheyrat you say. What a fucking joke of a comment. Learn the definition of it.
You guys never fully read a post. I said we played bee gheyrat after our 1st goal until iraq scored their 2nd. Thats when our gheyrat kicked in and i admire them for that but too little too late. We shouldve buried the game in first half. We scored and iraq sucked and instead of scoring a 2nd we slowed the game down and decided to hold the ball for 65min til the clock runs out. Thats what pissed me off. We handed the game to them. Sure we fought to make a come back but we shouldve never let those fukks even have a chance. Its like the story of rostam o sohrab...we reacted way too late.

maybe we shd have gone for a second while we did have 11 men (I mean 10 + shojaei, the ever-present handicap) on the pitch

To me it looked like we tried doing so but didn't succeed. After our goal and before the red card based on the flow of the game I fully expected a second goal.

actually he reacted before any of the goals but it didnt work he took off shojai and put amiri who is a better defender than him, but when you have a defence with with new players and minimal practice matches expect error in tense and high adrenaline times.

That's exactly it. Me and many people are not criticising the gheyrat of the players. They have it and they showed it.

We criticise the defensive, conservative, 'hold the ball in our side of the field' mentality when we are barely ahead instead of killing games off.

I've seen the best performance Iran plays only when we're behind, that's what pisses me and many fans off.

If this is not addressed I'm afraid we have to rely on luck. All it takes is one wrong bounce, one bad ref decision or one Messi ruin it for us.

Also I hate how people are blaming individuals for mistakes, like Pouraliganji for the penalty or Amiri for the miss. Give the guys a break. If anyone deserves criticism is Pouladi for trying t milk a foul.

Pouladi was certainly at fault. That is not the way to behave when you already have a yellow and the Ref has a grudge against your coach.

Very foolish move to say the least.
