i agree with most things you say.
PAG and ghafouri were amazing, hajsafi was not other than the momentary brilliance w the bahrain goal. dejagah IMO was really underwhelming, can't remember a serious threat to the goal.. where were his fulham-like cuts/blasts?? haghighi is really good in the air but poor on the ground, and i expected more from him in PKs. for what it's worth, i think japan's loss makes me feel better because it only shows what a joke of an asian cup it is when iran and japan miss the semifinals in favor of freaking iraq and uae. but arab do what arab do.

Maybe Sardar needs to attend some yoga classes after the practice.
Any I did not see the game live completely but when I turned on my TV i saw Iraq scoring. I looked carefully and realized that Haghighi was too slow to go down on ground and he in fact showed the wrong reaction to stop the ball. for balls in the air he is better but to lay on the ground is not his cup of tea.
Some general comments:
We know the refs are just as racist and prejudiced as politicians and rednecks sometimes so the team should have been warned not to create situations that will make the game to be decided by the referee. Any Pooladi was rough in the previous game also and played in the hands of referee while he tried to be a hero. He has suffered psychologically due to sarbazi drama and to just think he will be
In a real serious match you should never take out Dej. He will play with his heart even if his legs give in.
From what I saw the iraqis played a much better game when attacking and they had a plan. The first match against them as friendly basically let their coach figure out what to do next.
We say we did not but truly we underestimated them. If CQ had used offensive tactic and had scored 2-3 goals first then the story would have been different. We got got hit basically off-guarded.
What could we have done differently? Perhaps some things that even our logic did not let us pursue. That was to use Rahmati for penalty shootouts if we could have done so. (Rahamti was so good once that he could stop penalty shots with his shoes. And he would confuse the guy who was about to shoot. Haghighi looked so calm with frozen postures.
Since we scored 3 goals we cannot blame the strikers, as they did their job. It was the defense that broke down and with Ando and neku being old and tired and with Pooladi out then you can see why iraqis were able to score 3 goals.
Heidari should have never been brought to the games. He is too short too slow and not even what 1/2 of what Kaebi used to be.
When you reach the 120 th minutes your legs are no longer what they used to be and therefore you can miss penalty shots even if your name is Honda.
We have to thanks those new players who did great. Now I see why Naft is near the top of IPL table.
