Nekounam should retire after the 2018 World Cup. Team Melli need a great leader like him who can keep motivating the team and be a good idol for the younger players! I just can't imagine Team Melli without Nekounam

If he is such a great leader, where was he on the scene of Pouladi's red card? As the team captain, Nekounam should have been quick out front and appealing to the ref in English. Instead, we took the red card like a bunch of goosfands on the field. Nekounam needs to retire now as he has lost passion and seems ambivalent.

Instead of attacking the referee after he had given a red card which he would NOT reverse, EVER, he kept calm and led the team untill the penalties. Didn't you watch him arrange the players every god damn minute during extra time, even when we were behind?

What would've happened if Javad would've gone nuts on the referee? He would get mad, get a yellow card, which would affect his game, affect his team and affect his country.

Would that be better? I say no! he did the best damn job he could do as a captain, even if it looked like he was acting like a goosfand to you .

Just watch the Iraq game one more time. JAvad touched the ball maybe a few times. In a game played by 10 men for 120 minutes that is unacceptable. It is time for retirement.
