I lost all the respect I had for Iraqis and I can't see any difference between persian gulf country people and you guys. Take a look at your own people before. This little things do make a difference, so do not use your word as poison, use them as healing medicine!
We've had enough wars due to our leaders bad choice, we don't have to walk that path!

I have immense respect for TM's performance in the game. Credit to Iran for an amazing performance while playing a man down and constantly clawing back - the headers were an incredible display of aerial superiority.
I am also proud of the Iraqi team for playing an open game throughout - even before the red card Iraq had been creating chances up until the quick counter that led to Iran's opening goal.
The match aside, I'd like to make some remarks regarding prevailing narrative on these boards:

• Please quit the "Arabs" rhetoric: This Iraqi team does not represent "the Arabs" it represents Iraq alone and literally includes Kurds and an Assyrian in the squad.
• Please drop AFC conspiracy nonsense: Iraq has zero "pull" with that organization.
• Please stop channeling anger with ref towards Iraq: If IFF can prove Alaa Abdul Zahra was ineligible for this Asian Cup match then so be it, but there is no reason for vile remarks towards Iraqis across all social media platforms.

It's seriously a football game at the end of the day but people are trying to open up wounds and incite violence by joking about the difficulty of life in Iraq compared to Iran. This is going so much beyond sport and has become a platform for racism.
Iraq & Iran as allies have never been closer than they are today. Iraq is facing an existential threat and Iran is playing a huge role in helping destroy ISIS. It's a shame current goodwill is being tarnished by a football game.
I've been a longtime member of PFDC and know from experience that tensions always flare for a bit but reason always prevails in the end. Whatever the outcome, I hope the hate subsides soon. Peace.

On the two bolded parts. You may have zero pull, but your Arab brothers in the AFC have to urge to unite whenever any of the Arab countries play against us. So like our coach said, please explain to us the disputable nomination of this referee for this particular match? Make us understand.

Second, how come in Arabic media your team is always referred to as Arabic first? Maybe you see your team as multi ethnic, again your brothers see you as Arabs. They like to emphasize on that part whenever you play us. I don't see any country referring to us as the Persian national team of Iran. Obviously there is a sense of brotherhood, especially when you play against Iran.

We are mad at unfairness. The same ref who had an issue with our coach in our first game is assigned for this game which made us nervouse. Pooladi wouldn't have acted that way if he thought the ref is normal. Having said that I didn't like your keeper pushed our player in the red Card situation and all over the game I saw you were ready to fight our players. The worst was 20 sec before we start penalty kicks your player beats our best keeper so hard in head so he leaves. This is not an Iraq vs Iran issue but what happened was unfair. Iran was without doubt one of the best 4 teams maybe the best but we are not there.

I always supported Iraq and will continue to do so once Asia Cup is over but for semi-final I hope Korea jumps all the hurdles and reach the final and punish the opponent whoever will be Iraq has been used as pawn by Saudi-Emirati-Bahraini-Aussie puppeteers of this year's event.

I am starting to also get bored and sick of hearing these bizarre conspiracy theories and hatred against Arabs. We happened to have a terrible referee, whose even terrible in the Australian domestic league and at the end of the match after the insane drama and penalties we were quite unlucky. We have to get over it and too bad we can't do anything about it.

Yes, Iraq did win 2007 despite all the terrible things going on in their country for last many decades, and even worse things happening right now, like their countries literally in utter chaos and split apart. They were even fortunate to beat Jordan and come up against us and now make it to the Semi-Finals. now that is out of the way i would like to say that this was not iraq's fault and people's anger would be misplaced if they are angry at iraq. they were the benefactors of a very dubious sequence of events which was out of their hands. i wish iraq peace and calmness in the future so all the najafis can go back to their nation and live happily ever after instead of living in iran and plundering its assets while posting twisted historic lies about it while pretending to be an iranian intellectual.
