    aaand you're wrong.... yet again!
you seem to forget to mention anything about The US , the hostage crisis and how Saddam was really told to go to war with Iran (as a proxy of US).

^I know that and neither did I deny that, even though I didn't mention it and there was no need to. You obviously misunderstood me. I was talking about the current Iraqi Shias and I was not talking about the wars between Iran, Iraq and the USA.

Btw is Shahin Najafi is not Iranian according to you because of his surname, and I thought you would have been a big fan of the Salman Rushdie of Music and his anti-Islamic rhetoric. That's a shame.
you should be proud of your heritage and i have no problems with you being najafi, the problem arises when you start a thread and act as if you are an iranian intellectual and thus are not biased and go on to give a "correct" version of iranian history by lying through your butt. very ali baba like.

What was I lying about and being biased about? I was simply telling my own opinions earlier in this thread?

not in this thread but in the thread shia and iran why not both, you know where you posted that hilarious YouTube video while all the so called "ivy league historians" welcomed you and took a shot at the crazy "nationalists" before they come and correct your tom and jerry story.

Although I have no doubt iran would have won the game if it weren't for the baseless red card, I also think Iraq played a good game. They had definately figured how to beat TM defense by peeling away the defensive mid through long passes from the center. Their individual skill was nothing short of our players. They did not grass roll. They played hard and may be rough but so did we. They certainly did not twist the referees arm for the first and second yellow to pooladi.

To be honest, between SK and Iraq I still go for Iraq. I don't know what it is about them that compels me to root for them far after Iran.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

I'm talking about the conspiracy theorists, those who wish death upon Iraqis and those who are calling Sumerian, an old time respected member, sly and cunning. I've lost count over how many times I've facepalmed reading this thread.

If you saw my first post in the thread I spoke out against the conspiracy theories and hatred against Arabs. Doesn't make any sense right and also leaving AFC and somehow getting admitted to UEFA cause of this so called "Arab problem" and bias against Iran. I kept saying everywhere we happened to lose cause of the result of having a horrible referee and pure bad luck, nothing else and noone seems to understand me and they start saying boycott the AFC and join UEFA and saying hatred against Iraqis and Arabs. Like come on!

I have immense respect for TM's performance in the game. Credit to Iran for an amazing performance while playing a man down and constantly clawing back - the headers were an incredible display of aerial superiority.

I am also proud of the Iraqi team for playing an open game throughout - even before the red card Iraq had been creating chances up until the quick counter that led to Iran's opening goal.

The match aside, I'd like to make some remarks regarding prevailing narrative on these boards:
                                • Please quit the "Arabs" rhetoric: This Iraqi team does not represent "the Arabs" it represents Iraq alone and literally includes Kurds and an Assyrian in the squad.
                                • Please drop AFC conspiracy nonsense: Iraq has zero "pull" with that organization.
                                • Please stop channeling anger with ref towards Iraq: If IFF can prove Alaa Abdul Zahra was ineligible for this Asian Cup match then so be it, but there is no reason for vile remarks towards Iraqis across all social media platforms.

It's seriously a football game at the end of the day but people are trying to open up wounds and incite violence by joking about the difficulty of life in Iraq compared to Iran. This is going so much beyond sport and has become a platform for racism.

Iraq & Iran as allies have never been closer than they are today. Iraq is facing an existential threat and Iran is playing a huge role in helping destroy ISIS. It's a shame current goodwill is being tarnished by a football game.

I've been a longtime member of PFDC and know from experience that tensions always flare for a bit but reason always prevails in the end. Whatever the outcome, I hope the hate subsides soon. Peace.
Iraq NT has always been respected by me and most Iranians.
Iraqi's always play hard and fair.
That game was ruined by the referee, not the Iraqi players who played hard and fair.
