Guys it was a heart breaking loss, but some of the reactions on the homepage seem biased and a bit desperate.
Was the ref really that bad?
Pooladi has himself to blame.
Why was a left back even up in the other box near the end of the first half (winning 1-0) to begin with?
His feigning of injury and rolling around on the ground wasting time deserved a yellow. So did the Iraqi goalie for pushing him.
Being that he was already on a yellow, he should have avoided any attention from the ref.
I wish TM would stop rolling on the ground crying. That aspect of Asian football is embarrassing.
Regardless of the refs, Iraq were much more confident and cool on their penalties.
Doping scandal??? really?
that just seemed desperate. Iraq are through, lets graciously accept defeat and build on the positives.
Positives of the tournament:
Emergence of Azmoun up front.
Ghafouri at right back - he was very impressive.
Teymurian was Iran's best player of the tournament. He set up most goals and never stopped running.
