perfect example of iraqi thoughts towards us

people here keep complaining about being racist towards iraqis because we call them arabs instead of iraqis or other things. some iranians have gone over the line, but the iraqis are posting a lot of insanely hateful messages and i don't know why we're making a huge deal of calling them arabs or whatever when they post things like this. both sides have immature youths that say nonsense, but arab racism is thousands of years old and seemingly getting worse by the day. so please don't talk about iranians and silly comments when iraqis are posting comments like this on twitter and facebook:

      Important to focus n AFC.
Its not abut Iraq. Of curse they are angry.
But just don't let us confuse our self and people around us. AFC and only AFC

And yes there are Iraqi and irani that have startet to take it far, to far. But you will lose in public if you start to attack like that.
Lets be serious and only use facts. The fact is: AFC and the referee they wanted to referee the game gave us hard time.

Only racists and idiots would comment like this! Innocent children are losing their lives, and it is up to us to remind and reject such hateful and disgraceful comments from both sides over a game!!!

Lets not make it into a war. The Iraqis are also in our "team" when it is about getting screwed by the AFC. Only reason AFC voted against us is because their hate for us exceed the "love" for their Iraqi "brothers".

If it was another team than Iran, then Iraq would be screwed by the AFC.

And of course there are retards from both the Iraqi and Iranian side with racist remarks toward eachother, while the real enemy, that is AFC, is sitting and eating popcorns on the sideline.

Why are you making a thread about what internet teenagers are saying?

People say stupid stuff all the time. Who cares what this girl or anyone else says?

Let's just focus on what we have to do and let them hate if they want. Ignoring these people is the best reaction.

Racist comments should obviously be avoided, but I don't think most Iranians' anger and sentiments toward the Iraqis are completely unreasonable or justified. Let's just recap some of what the "Iraqis" have done in the last 34 years:

1 - Invaded our country, destroyed our cities and killed nearly a million Iranians according to their own claims!

2 - Then they turned their guns and chemical weapons against their own citizens in a genocide that cost the lives of as many as 180,000 civilians according to some accounts.

3 - As soon as that was over, they invaded Kuwait, caused the displacement of over 0.5 a million people, raped their women, annexed it and set their oil fields ablaze on their way out - not to mention that they also invaded Saudi Arabia in the process!

4 - Then they dropped their weapons and surrendered en masse like a bunch of cowards during the US invasion which thankfully kept the rest of us safe for a decade, during which time there was no shortage of Iraqis blowing up their own people in terrorist attacks.

5 - Then, not long after the US left, the Iraqis did either of two things: joined up forces with ISIS to attack and kill their own citizens again or once again surrendered their weapons to the enemy en masse and ran like a bunch of cowards.

Now, they have everyone else including Iranians fighting their war. And instead of showing the smallest amount of appreciation at least being sportsmanlike in an arena against us, their coach said he would like to see an Iraq-UAE final before the game and his players not only attacked and cut us down like animals during the game and every chance that they got, but tried to start fights with us twice.

Just review the video of the end of the game when that dayyoos Younis is trying to fight with our players after they fouled Haghighi. I'm sorry, but these %#$% deserve no respect, not as a team and certainly not as a country. That's not to say that all Iraqis are bad and they should be subject to racist comments.

^^^It wasn't "they" /the iraqis but Saddam and his men, we all hate Saddam but if you really think about it he did far more damage to his own country and people. We believe people should look and treat us differently than Hizbollah / IR, then how come we look at all Iraqis as Baathists?

This is now a political discussion and not football / sports, only reason i have kept in football forum so far is so that unregistered and visitors to see it and understand not all iranians hold with such cruel statements.

Not to mention the teenagers posting these things weren't even born when most of that stuff happened.

I was at a US-Mexico game once and I couldn't believe the things some fans were saying to the small number of Mexican fans there. I doubt they would have said such things if there wasn't a match.

Football seems to bring out the worst in some people, but it's all just words and emotions. It should be left at that. Just look at all the hatred that was shown towards Korea during the WCQ. Now we have threads that are thanking them

Agreed with UL jaan. 80% of Iraqis hate Saddam more than we do, because he slaughtered hundreds of thousands of his own people. Plus enough of these hatred and useless threads please. I don't give a damn if the Iraqis are doing the same or what not, I just am tired of this . The never ending chaotic status of the middle east is the biggest proof!

UL jaan, you make it sound like it was Saddam and a couple of dozen people who did all these crimes. When the Iran-Iraq started Saddam's men were a group of 1/2 million people, nearly 20% of all of Iraq's "capable" population!

The guys who had been marginalizing and mistreating their own Sunni population since 2011, causing them to eventually side with ISIS, or the guys who dropped their guns and ran like cowards in face of ISIS, the new crowd that joined ISIS, or the guys who're taking back Sunni villages from ISIS now and setting the homes on fire, these are not Saddam's men.

Surely, there must be something wrong with the collective psyche of a population that recognizes nothing but conflict and fighting. Again, that's not the same as saying all Iraqis are bad or making racist comments toward an entire population. But all collectives and countries can be judged based on their actions.

Iran is judged based on the actions of our government and we judge other countries based on the actions of their governments. Why should Iraq be an exception to the rule?

I hate the antagonistic tribal Arab culture and the savage religion they brought to us as much as anyone. But the culture of fear, hate, and distrust that dominates our mentality must stop here. It's exactly relying on this mindset that allows authoritarian rule to prevail in our region. It gives every dictator the most convenient excuse to suppress our freedom. They want us to live in fear so they can intimidate us into submission. Don't feed this cycle of hate and violence. Confront hate and ignorance with peacefulness and civility.

What do you expect from a country that has been under war since 2000 non-stop? No civilization or whatsoever.
