UAE to host Asian Cup 2019?

    http://www.teammelli.com/2015/01/27/...asian-cu-2019/

According to this article, the AFC has already shortlisted the host candidates to just these two: Iran and UAE. However, it is apparently also leaked that UAE are to be announced as hosts sometime this year.

Let's hope IFF can do something about this...

AFC hates Iran. No way we will get Asian cup. The best they will give us is asian u15 tournament.

The good news is that even if UAE gets it, there is a HUGE Iranian expat community there and the TM matches will have the same support (or even more) than they did in Australia.

Realistically, I don't think Iran has a chance of getting any major tournament until the issue of women going to stadiums is resolved. We can't really look at that as an AFC conspiracy - it should be a basic requirement in a major tournament not to discriminate against fans.

Let's face it, Iran also has serious infrastructure problems. None of the stadiums are up to modern standards for broadcasting and press. There are intra-city and inter-city transportation issues, etc.

Do you guys know how difficult is going to be for foreigners to travel to Iran for Asian Cup? We don't accept any sort of credit cards, they can't book hotels online it's just a whole mess. We can't even broadcast in HD let along hosting this.

UAE has the infrastructure, excellent hotels, airports and it's ready to host a big tournament. Heck I would rather them host the world cup than Qatar.

            ^Word.

I love it whenever I'm too lazy to properly reply on a thread here after a long day and somehow says exactly what you were thinking.

UAE to host Asian Cup 2019?

Why doesn't afc arrange asian cup every second year just like the african cup of nations?

Yeah good points. I suppose even if we were to host this cup in 2019, it's gonna end up being more or less an emberassment (especially compared to Australia 2015).

We dont deserve to host the Asian Cup.

The UAE had world-class infrastructures, stadiums, is not isolated from the rest of the world, allows women in stadiums, and is more professional in terms of broadcasting, organization and structure.

It shouldn't matter to us anyway. Iran's community is huge in the UAE ~ 1 million Iranians live there.

Every game is going to be a home game for us.

with our current state of country, it's extremely unlikely that they'll give us anything above U19

that's pretty obvious but seriously Iran has maybe 2 good pitches for soccer. Till Iran spends money on their football, there is no way they are going to get any legit tourney.

If UAsh1t got it, hopefully won't lose its time going there or sending our U17.

one of the main reasons why AFC will give it to UAE is because IRI will allow women in the stadiums
