Seems to me for every vatani trained Daei and Azadegan trained Azizi, we have at least if not superior, Holland trained RGN and Germany trained Ashman.

So why underachieving vatani coaches are immediately fired and attacked and criticized, but an under achieving famous int'l coach is not?
why do you keep trying to draw parallels between our golden generations that were lush with once-in-a-generation talent and our current drought? you surely can't be that naive. don't twist facts to fit your own agenda.

in 2006-7 we had SEVEN legionnaires STARTING in the top-4 leagues (Italy, Germany, Spain, England). Today we have ZERO. I know that you understand this but you are playing dumb which is very annoying.

If CQ had what GN had at his disposal in AC2007, we would have won the cup!

Rezaei (Serie A), prime Nekounam (Osasuna), prime Ando (Bolton), Shojaei (Osasuna or abotu to go to Osasuna), Mahdavikia (bundesliga star), hashemian (bundesliga star), karimi (just left Bayern), Zandi (Kaiserslautern)..

Compare with today: our only starter in a first-division club is Haghighi, whose team Penafiel in 19th in the Portuguese league! Our superstar talent Azmoun doesn't even start at Rubin Kazan! wake up man!

I Do think this generation of players is somewhat average compared to the 1996-2006.
And the likes of Daei, Azizi and Karimi where the few genious types who rose above the rest through hard work and inherent talent.
I do not credit Iranian coaches for those few super stars, because if our coaches were capable of developing decent players, where are the rest of them?
Most our talented players of 1996-2006 grew up during the war time playing in the alleyess and dusty fields and learning by playing, not through a football academy. So how can we credit the IPL and the domestic coaches for these players?
Karimi was raw technical talent and should've turned into Iranian Messi, but was not decovered. Or let's say descovered 5 years too late!

I seriously doubt that Gucci and Ashkan could've become more than an average player id they grew up in our system. Maybe they would become grocery store owners for alll that I know!

When our 17 year olds can match Argentinian 17 year olds in football, it begs the question WHY! Why don't our 21 year olds make it to the olympics by beating Asian level teams? Or why we don't have any new players in European leagues while Argentinians are everywhere?

I'd comfortably point at our footballing system, league, IFF, domestic coaches, mangement...

Or how about our squad after WC 98! We tied Thailand in the 2000 Asian Cup and lost to Korea in the first knockout stage!

I read somewhere that Pouladi forged his moaafi or payan khedmat.

Our coaches nowadays do not care about talent, they care about lining their own pockets.

GN has been accused of this the most. And if that is not the case, then he is truly a terrible manager, because one would have to pay me to start Nazari a full season without him scoring anything.

he also revolutionized doogh by adding gaaz and mint to it. in all seriousness though had it not been for cq many iranians would have denied their iranian heritage. players dont want to play for tm they want to play for cq.

noooo not at all...why would they even consider playing for tm if cq is not the coach?! i would not even watch tm games if he is not the coach.
