^ even if we assume we always played Ali asghari. Isn't one of the main reasons we spend so much money to bring in a big name to address this? Shouldn't a better quality of performance be the least of our venture?
So now, you say we played Ali asghari before, so today's Ali asghari should not be surprising. But the difference is we hadn't spent this much money and time and use a big name as a hammer to bring down on any sensible and insensible criticism.

Here's the problem. Some of us either font understand people's criticisms or do understand but twist it so there's a way out.
    Here's an example;
Nobody says normally we should beat Bosnia (although we have beaten them on and off). The problem is we did t even TRY to beat them as if we didn't believe we could. The squad, the strategy, the in-game tactics, ... . none of them looked like a team was aiming to beat the other. This, is the problem.

Result means result. You ought to know.
It means if x reaches quarters of a tourney, and y reaches the semis, then Y's results have been better.
It's quite a simple matter as the quality of display is to be considered.
It means CQ has obtained no better results than GN or Ghotbi in Asia cup.

My problem is with these absurd assumptions - like the assumption that:

      1) we didn't line up to beat Bosnia. SAYS WHO? To me, we were a morally and physically depleted team after the boys played the game of their lives against Argentina. If you watch the beginning of that game we were clearly going for the win. why in the hell would CQ go for a tie or loss? what does that do for us?

      2) it's a national coach's job to "undo" ali-asghari football. SAYS WHO? a national coach's job is to take the best assortment of talent possible and create the formation, tactics and conditions necessary to win. not to install football IQ and skill. these players have been playing this way for their entire adult lives, and they see CQ for maybe 15-30 days a year. and he's supposed to IN THIS SHORT TIME PERIOD teach them good footballing habits?

Maybe this comes down to a fundamental disagreement over what a national team coach (1) is supposed to do (2) can do.

You seem to believe that a national team coach can have a huge impact on a team's technical performance. I don't. I think a national team coach's ability to impact a team is limited to mainly psychological, physical and tactical performance. In Iran especially, with incompetent IFF and inability to have decent friendlies, the coachs impact is even LESS. Imagine what CQ could do if he had Klinsmann's resources?

There's only so much a coach can do. And to me, CQ has maximized psychological preparation, physically gotten us to a high level, and has brought solidarity to the team. Your expectations are unrealistic, and your analysis is flawed by the fact that your first instinct is to evaluate every football match from the standpoint of: "how did the coach do?" when often the coach's performance isn't even close to importance of players, refs, and the other team's performance that day.

          Lol on results....

How about the result of a vatani coach crashing out of the ACL in the first knockout round after tying the mighty Thailand!

And doing so with the likes of DAei, Azizi, Karimi, Mahdavikia, Hashemian, Bagheri!

So are you telling me that Iran is worse than Iraq who has no functional government? Evidently, yes. I disagree. No one has been able to refute my other points and that is CQ has failed in his last two high stakes matches, correct? Yes.

i got an idea: lets form a mob or even a herd will suffice and rip the ass of anyone who criticizes cq. only cq knows about football and more specifically iranian football and all our other coaches, experts are all jealous morons who all have it in their head for some reason that once cq is gone that some how they will become coach. lets create a new word for critics instead of calling them haters and morons lets call them ani fans.

hail cq..hail cq who imo is koorosheh kabir returned to revive the persian empire. i actually think he is the phoenix who has risen from the ashes to magically save the talent less iranians from not even making these tournaments to going all the way to the quarter finals. shame on zahab how dare he say anything other than "we were the best team and the real champions of the asian cup" and "i have never seen iran this strong" (of course without any talents). if i see this martikeh bi savad in the streets i ll plant an eggplant under his eyes and i ll add to that a kaf gorgi which will undoubtedly set him straight. koorosh be khaab ke qerosh bidarast.

No, genius. I'm telling you that the same country you dismiss for its political situation has actually made the semifinals of the Olympics and WON the Asian cup in recent years under the same conditions, so your attempt to equate them to a hopeless team that we should have easily beaten with ten men is either based in ignorance or dishonesty. Nonsense like this is the reason you "CQ critics" get so much ridicule. You have zero perspective or context to your arguments.

Sure, we failed against Iraq and it's CQ's fault... if you just ignore that we played a man down for 80 out of 120 minutes and still managed to come back twice in extra time only to lose in penalties. Definitely.

Man...With genius arguments like this I can't believe people don't take "CQ critics" more seriously! After seeing this I'm definitely ignoring that every single Team Melli player has supported CQ and called him the best they've ever worked with. Clearly the internet PS4 contingent know better. And they have lots of post counts and FIFA 15 trophies to prove it.

You have no right making ridiculous claims like this. Some of them may own a XboxOne.

I'd rather smash their laptops so they can spend more time learning the beautiful game on their consoles.

good idea, if we smash their laptops we dont have to hear about their criticisms and their worthless stats. of course smashing their PlayStation has a different kind of joy.

Before smashing their laptops, I hope the scholars send their worthless stats to Dejagah, Ando, Gucci and every other player on the team to school them. Those dumb players need to understand that just because they're professionals and some have played in Europe doesn't mean they understand what a good coach is. They need to post on internet message boards and play FIFA 15 with their cousins to figure that out.

to be honest i like your first idea better, smashing is much cooler than sending. i dont think any of the playstation players doubts that cq is a good or maybe even a great coach but they probably attribute results to success in their playstation brains. another thing is even their arguments about possession and shots is rooted in their desires to just play as much as possible.
