After the Asian Cup, I support inviting Daniel Davari again

Not that Haghighi did poorly, but against Iraq, he didn't look very strong either. He made a few good saves, but the second we played against a team that could actually shoot on our goal (because we were down a man), he looked shaky. Also, he disappointed me with his reactions in the PK shootout. He was jumping at random. He should have expected Younis Mahmud's chip, since he did the same exact shot 2 weeks before against us, and could have easily blocked it. I feel like Haghighi was given the spot too easily, and Forouzan and Biranvand aren't tough competition for him at the moment. Biranvand is one for the future, but he is not at the point to actively compete with Haghighi yet.
I think it would be better for TM to have Davari in the 3rd goalie spot instead of Forouzan. I can't even understand why Forouzan was invited... Davari definitely had a downturn in his career after joining TM (who hasn't Zandi, Gucci, Dejagah, Beitashour, etc.), but despite all the bashing of him. He has potential to get better. Both him and Haghighi have faults in their game, and they seemed to get along very well. Them training together would make them both better and it's good to have Davari there in case his form returns suddenly.
I'd say Davari and Haghighi should compete for the current starting spot, and Biranvand should take the mantle in the coming 4 years heading into WC 2018. Unless, of course, Davari or Haghighi are kicking major ass.

I agree that it wasn't Haghighi's best moment, but the only goal he could've actually done anything better on was the first one. And I also agree that he could've done better during the penalties. But I still think he is atm our #1, no doubt, and even if we were to replace him because his form would drup drastically, I would replace him with Beiranvand, no way Davari is better than him. Just my opinion though.

And btw, all those players you mentioned their careers going down after joining TM, I actually disagree about Dejagah, after joining TM, (note that it had nothing to do with TM though), he started in the EPL, and performed very well, he could easily play in a mid table team in the EPL, and he most likely had offers, it was his own idiotic decision that fvcked TM.

I'm not saying to replace him. Rather, in the upcoming friendlies, we should invite him, Haghighi and Biranvand to play against Sweden. Maybe swap them at half-time.

I personally don't think Davari ever got a fair opportunity with TM. If you look at who his defensive line was, he had Alenemeh and Khanzadeh protecting his goal. He was playing with the B-team.

I think the competition would be good for TM, and nobody should be fix #1. If Biranvand is on form, then he should start. I just think Davari is a better choice than Forouzan for that 3rd spot.

I think Forouzan was invited because the lack of a third keeper, since Davari turned down the TM invite due to family reasons. But of course, who ever performs the best, shall start, but what is troubling is that Davari has been very poor for his club lately too..

the only weakness with haghighi is he is weak at peanlties,he cant save any, out of 9 pealties, we went wrong direction on 5 that is bad

We shouldn't be changing keepers just like that. I don't think Haghigi was great in the tournament, but he wasn't bad either. He will be our number 1 for the next few years, unless he has a major decline in form. I wouldn't mind Davari playing a half in penalties, but the defenders are getting used to Haghigi, and he will remain no1.

I think our coaching staff till now has done a good job with player selection. Especially when it comes to the GK position Ahmadi > Rahmati.

I'm sure if they think he will play better he will get invited.

Wished Davari for penalties vs. Iraq, if we could sub him in and in our team, would be a good effect i think.

Have you guys actually seen Davari in penalties or anything, or just making random assumptions? And even if we had a great PK saver, it wouldn't matter, since we already made 3 subs.

When he is on form, which he is far from nowadays, why not. But to me Haghighi and Beiranvand are the incontestable 1st and 2nd best Iranian keepers. I would argue that even Mohsen Fourouzan has less weaknesses than Davari and is more consistent. When Makani and Ahmadi are on form they should also be considered.

So considering all of these and the fact that Beiranvand at 22 years old only is looking like a future star, I cannot see any future for Davari with TM.

Exactly my thoughts. If not Haghighi, I feel Bieranvand has been a patient bench occupant, and he deserves the next crack. I mean Davari is struggling mightily as it is in Grasshoppers.

Beiranvand is definitely the future, but having Davari in TM is very benefitial due to his expertise and experience of playing abroad. Call me crazy, but I believe that Haghighi and Davari could be more a like. Due to Davari's inability to speak Farsi, he falls into second choice keeper otherwise he would be no.1 as we all know that communication in the backline helps in conceeding less goals. He's a great keeper, but he needs to improve on our language like Gucci, Dejagah and even Beitashour have done.

Beiranvand should definitely be in TM no doubt.

Forouzan has no business in TM. He's like Mohammadi v.2.
