Don't want to get involved in this discussion but I was also thinking this. I have already seen Turkmens from Turkmenistan creating FB pages posting stuff with that Azmoun is from Turkmenistan, not Iran. Ugh

Lol these things always happen, wouldn't be surprised if people have things for Ando saying he is from Armenia. They fail to see that they are wearing the Iranian national team jersey, and they are Iranian. They are welcome to be fans.

I must cry my heart out overtime when I think about Azmoun deservingly being in the final of the Asian Cup ready to beat the Australians

You can use ethnicity if you were talking about Baluch, Turkmen and Arabs.
Khuzestan and Mazandaran are provinces, which are names of locations not an ethnicities!
Lors, Kurds, Gilaki, Mazani and Farsi speaking people are largely of the same origin of the old Iranian peoples, so not separate ethnicities, not even Azaris.

Besides the fact that looking at the Turkmens in those pictures you can see that most of them are very mixed and not of a different race or ethnicity from other Iranians.

Anyhow, these pictures look super cute!
He is such a charming, humble and lovable young man.
I'm so happy to have such talented and nice guy in TM.
And Also super happy for Gonbad people having their boy in TM.
I believe Gonbad is of of the strong bases of Iranian Volleyball and Sardar wanted to become a volleyball player first.
Maybe his amazing aerial abilities come from his early volleyball training!?
Sardar's father was in Iran's Volleyball national team. In fact Sardar played for youth national volleyball team before switching to Football. And yes his jumps are unbelievable. In his current Russian team he has the highest vertical jump.

Azmoun needs to do a lot more to develop into a complete player... Having regular play time at a decent club is one of those things.

Indeed if sardar makes the right decisions and stay injury free (well theres not much he can do about it anyone can damage you in any game) He will become what we all wanted ali karimi to become

                    Loving the Ralph Lauren outfit.
I've learnt it's not what you have in your life, but who you have in your life that counts

he must be number one favorite of Turkmen Chicks now

On a serious note, he's one of the most well-mannered young Iranian players ever. In his interviews he shows a lot of maturity, humility, respect and gratitude for seniors all those who helped him. Similarly, Alireza Jahanbakhsh.

They should be a role model for any young Iranian talent aspiring a professional career.
