Khakpour: I didn't play Jahanbakhsh because Nepal played too rough
he was warming up towards the end of the game and he looked totally jet-lagged and tired ..! he shoulda been given the day off to rest and join for our next game..!!
nepal couldnt play physical even if they wanted to..!
Jahanbaksh and Azmoun clearly did not need to be here... As we just saw we were on a different plant from the other team. This was the most costly decision and will hurt us a lot. Since CQ will not return now.. This all has to do with very poor management from Khafashian and co.
sad but true!!!!
but again, the national team headcoach has the final say in every federation when it comes to all national teams of that federation (U16 up top senior A team) but hey in Iran its apparently the other way round
Khakpour: I didn't play Jahanbakhsh because Nepal played too rough
I see..... oh well, lets not let him travel with the senior team to Austria as well.
It surely is better for our football if he warms the bench of the U-23 team vs a 3rd rated Asian opponent instead of training with A team for a possible line up vs Chile and Sweden.
PLUS it will piss CQ off as well to the delight of domestic coaches. Khakpour is our hero!
But it's not about bench warming against Nepal. It's about joining the team and practicing with them to achieve cohesion. In fact I wouldn't make anything out of it if neither of these two were used against any of Nepal, Palestine and Afghanistan. Even if for a minute.
but that doesn't mean they miss the training and practice sessions to coordinate with the rest for the big game against ksa.
Talk about "plastic fans"... 3500 (official attendance with some estimates as high as 7,000) people turned up at the Afghanistan-Palestine game in Shahid Dastgerdi stadium (guessing mostly Afghans) and only 650 Iranians turned up at Azadi to watch TM Omid - with free admission!!!
Absolute shame. No wonder Mottahari said that "maybe people feel that we're playing at home because the games are in Azadi, but if they don't show up to the stadium we are going to feel less at home than if we were playing outside Iran".

Bet you a lot of PFDC members would also boycott these games cause of their beef over SA and JB.

I wish they have boycotted the game Camran jaan. Instead, they turned out in droves in this thread bashing TM all they could and being upset why Nepal wasn't stronger or playing better!

Dear:
As you are aware, These Championship game was Scheduled to be held in Ahwaz ( Bebin).Only few weeks ago they moved it to Tehran, because they claimed , not enough high standard hotels and practice stadiums.
It would have been greater games if it was in Ahwaz with Ahwazi fans.
Esfahan Or Tabriz could have been another candidate cities.

Plastic fans? Firstly, it's the Nowruz holidays, which means many people are spending times with their family or are on vacation. Secondly, even if people are on holiday, there are those who still have to work for a living given the conditions in Iran. Whether the match is free or not, some people do not have the means the means to get to Azadi stadium.
These games are poorly advertised to the public and little to no attention is ever given to our youth teams. Many club games with senior-level players barely have any attendance and now you want people to show up to watch our Olympic team against Nepal.
For many people in Iran, as much as they love football, it is at the tail end of their priorities. They don't have the luxury or the time to go to every match. It's not like PFDC where people have the means to track the team to their hotel, hang out with them, and purchase every merchandise that comes out.
