While we're waiting for the game to start, the following results from earlier today are relevant to us:

* Australia 5 - Myanmar 1, Myanmar finish 2nd with 6 points and a GD of 0: Very likely not to advance

* South Korea 4 - Indonesia 0, Indonesia finish 2nd with 6 points and a GD of +3 - May or may not advance depending on other results.

* Syria 2 - Uzbekistan 1, Uzbekistan finish 2nd with 6 points and a GD of +5: They become the 1st of five 2nd placed teams to advance.

That basically means that if we finish with a GD of +3 or higher, we will advance even with 6 points and a 6 goal margin loss to Saudi Arabia! Safe to say, we're through unless some real freaky stuff happens (Iraq lose their last game, Laos beats China etc. in which case we'll need a better GD)

But to kick ksa out of it completely means so much more.
Aside from utter pleasure of seeing them crumble, it would also mean less hassle in the final round as I'd rather have teams like Myanmar or Indonesia than ksa.

Yeah, I definitely want a convincing win in this game. The boys need the self-confidence of knowing they can beat other big teams from Asia, going into the next round. Also, revenge for the 1994, 2002 and 2010 WCQ would be sweet.

BTW, Vietnam are up on Macau 6-0 in the 62nd minute, so it looks like they'll take another one of those 2nd placed spots along with Uzbekistan and 1/4 chance that they'll be in our group for the main tournament - revenge revenge, more revenge!

And Palestine are beating Nepal 3-0, minute 68.

Lots of individual errors in this game even from JB. VERY disorganized offence and somewhat disorganized defense. We have LOTS of work left for the next round.

Saudis VERY physical and playing the offside trap pretty high up.

Not sure why the boys are rushing it so much. I know it's nice to win the game, but the onus is on the Saudis to take the game to us. The more we slow the game down, the most frustrated they'll be.

Overall, not a terrible half but we could have done better.
