It's a very sad feeling knowing that CQ's tenure has come to an end. Despite the result, we still played (mostly) well even with a few players missing (Pouladi, Azmoun, Rafiei, Jahanbakhsh, Hajsafi). We had nothing less than this Swedish side aside from one of this generation's best players (Zlatan).

Sad to see this era come to an end.

And as for the substitutes, try to think outside the box. CQ wanted to give almost every player some time as a token of appreciation.

A greate play by sweden 1. halft. Second half both side were testing their new players. They were way better and 3-1 is a good result the way
every thing went but we should play more this kind of teams. Notice their combinational play and their posiotioning compare to us. We were very unpreceise in passing. They were too good guys

Probably deserved 2-1, 3-1 wasn't that unexpected either but in all,

a good friendly. for the criticisms of subs, it is a friendly you have to try new players a- some of our subs are at U23 that doesn't help and b- you use games like these to try that I have no problem with the way it worked, just shows a serious lack of depth on the part of our players. gotta build some up to avoid issues with retiring players and injuries/suspensions in the future.

Sadly - if CQ is gone - not sure we will have learned anything from this friendly.

Tm played great! I only watched the second half but from what I saw, we played a good game. Sweden had no serious chances in the second half and we maintained a lot of possession.

We cant play against strong physical teams, mostly european teams, bosnia, sweden both showed our weaknesses against taller stronger players

which is good, you play friendly so you can fix your mistakes

CQ definitely deserves criticism today. I agree with what most are saying, the subs were very questionable.

Well that is why he is leaving TM. The players CQ would wish he could sub in was "withheld" by the IFF. We really needed Azmoun and JB here

That is typical IRIB broadcast censorship of the feed whenever there is a shot of the crowd -- and there were thousands of passionate Iranian fans in that stadium, many of them women. Khaak bar sareshoon.

Great job By TM proud of our boys. Football experts must not understand the purpose of friendlies or exhibition match's. You play friendlies for player growth, exposure and experience... CQ made those subs so these youngsters could get match practice against a legit European team.

I agree with the subs that we made, they were all smart tactically, just none of them had an effect. Story of the game, Sweden was the bigger team, and they beat us at our own game. They were first to the ball for every header and made it look easy.


Players:
Haghighi - Not much to say, he does seem to hesitate a bit before coming out or staying in the net, was in good position sometimes to make his saves
Montazeri - Was a lot better in the second half in going up and defending
Hosseini - Improved in the second half to make some crucial tackles
Pouraliganji - Played decently while he was on, but we needed a bigger defender and CQ realzied taht
Sadeghi - Didn't see much, but it was needed taht he came one
Beikzadeh - Was better going forward than defending
Teymourian - Improved as the game went on
Nekounam - Scored the goal and was tired
Dejagah - Invisible
Shojaei - nice dribbles and passes, he also got back and defended a lot, great game by him
Amiri - Was excellent in the first half, ddin't have as much of an effect in the second half but played a great game
Reza - Hit the post, and despite his size he really showed some strength.
Ansarifard - N/A
Ghafouri - had no effect after he came on, poor passes
Rezaeian - N/A
Ebrahimi - I suspect he was brought on for his long range shots, but wasn't on long enough to be noticed

Overall:
- Sweden were better organized, and they were just physically bigger than us so tehy beat us to every header
- Our counter attackign was not very good this game
- Sweden also slowed the game down significantly in the second half
- We needed more speed and tactical players, its a shame Azmoun and JB couldn't be there, maybe they could have helped

-> Just happy to see Team Melli play against strong teams, only way we will get better. Unfortante scoreline, Sweden didn't deserve that third goal to make it look like we lost by a bigger margin.
