IRAN may get the mother of all groups of death in 2018 WCQ
^im not sure what youre talking about each pot will have 8 teams and australia and uae will 100% be in pot 1. The hardest group iran can get will be something like:
Iran
Saudi
Thailand
North korea
Yemen
It's gonna be based on the new ranking because even in BigSoccer the Iraqi fans were bitching about how not making it to the final screwed their seeding for WCQ. They didn't make the top seed.
I hope we qualify for World cup 2018 in Russia. So excited. Just saw some pictures of the New Zenit Stadium = masterpiece!!! I wish we could build a few stadiums like that.
I calculate here for you all teams of Asian Cup - with the known results of Asian Cup now it is easy to this.
Coming February Ranking:
1.Iran 694
2.Japan 605
3.Korea 604
4.Australia 548
5.UAE 514
6.Usbekistan 493
7.China 431
8.Oman 356
9.Saudi Arabia 344
10.Jordan 338
11.Bahrain 333
12.Irak 322
13.Qatar 303
14.Palestine 234
15.Kuwait 231
16.North Korea 144
Only probably Lebanon could be in front of North Korea and Kuwait, but not even sure they make the Top-16.
But more important fact is that the friendlies in March vs. Chile and Sweden will also go into the calculation for April List. Therefore teams which are ranked 6-8, specially Oman and teams ranked 9-11 specially Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Bahrain can switch places in following cases:
Saudi Arabia organized friendlies against higher ranked teams, and win these matches, while Oman has no Friendlies or lose their friendlies.
We must look for the organized matches in April for these candidates. same case for No.15,16,17,18 ranked teams....
I checked Friendlies of the Asian Cup teams, and this time we have the best, but we may lose our top position against Japan:
Iran
(vs. Chile and Sweden, both in Sweden)
China
(25. March vs. Phillipines
Australia
25.March in Germany vs. Germany
OmanKorea
(27March vs. Uzbekistan)
Uzbekistan
(27.March vs. Korea, 31.March vs. Japan)
Japan
(27.March vs. Tunisia, 31. March vs. Uzbekistan)
Qatar
(vs. 26.March Algeria and 30.March Slovenia in Doha
Saudis
no Friendlies planned/announced
Iraq
no Friendlies planned/announced
UAE

Kuwait

Palestine

Jordan

Bahrain

Saudis could arrange two Friendly vs. weaker sides and so move higher to POT 1 because Oman seems to have strong opponents, but otherwise if they can overcome these teams, they will for sure stay in Pot 1.

If Defenders were allowed to use their hands to stop Karimi -

i think regaless we will stay in pot 1 but maybe teams like saudi want to get pot 1, cause they can get knock out with a pot 2, i want Iraq badly, they will be raped in azadi!
Why worry? Tiny Costa Rica came out of the group of champions in 2014 and went all the way to the last 8. My point is, with enough preparation, nothing is impossible.
