As Ali.A said a couple of times, all the draws for WCQ in Asia will be based on the latest FIFA ranking available at the time of the draw.
That means the draw which is to be held next week for the preliminary round (Iran not involved in this round) will be based on the January ranking (February ranking comes out 2 days after the draw).
The draw for the 1st group stage will be based on the April ranking since that ranking will be released on April 9th and the draw will take place on the 11th. So, our two friendlies in Scandinavia (fingers crossed) will be taken into account.
That's why Qatar are playing Algeria (currently ranked 18) and Slovenia (currently ranked 46) to try and gain some extra points and possibly make it to the 1st pot. I suspect all other Arab countries will spend all the money they need to spend to do the same.
