[VIDEO] Lack of passion for football in these people (AUS)
It's a great achievement then for a country of roughly 25 million people who consider soccer (football) their fourth or fifth biggest sport, to win the Asian Cup in only 3 attempts. Last cup they were close too, only to lose the final to an extra time goal to multiple champion, Japan.

That's what happens when your nation is developed and has a democratic system with a free market economy (as opposed to our ahkoond/arab infested theocratic sanctioned hit country).Originally posted by littlepersia17 View PostIt's a great achievement then for a country of roughly 25 million people who consider soccer (football) their fourth or fifth biggest sport, to win the Asian Cup in only 3 attempts. I have to argue against that. Australia is a great football team and its not that big of achievement for a team that moved into AFC winning it on home soil. They choked the last 2 Asian Cups and they are supposed to be far superior compared to Asia. IMO Australia hasn't achieved much with all the hype around the socceroos and how good they think they are.Originally posted by littlepersia17 View PostIt's a great achievement then for a country of roughly 25 million people who consider soccer (football) their fourth or fifth biggest sport, to win the Asian Cup in only 3 attempts. Your saying 'they're supposed' to be superior in Asia. Aren't we supposed to be superior in Asia too.Originally posted by babak_iran View PostI have to argue against that. And also what do you mean by 'choke'. Australia was the finalist last AC that lost to an extra time goal.
It's amazing people expect Australia to do good, even though soccer/football isn't a mainstream sport here.
In Iran however, with almost 80 million people, and football is't undoubtedly #1 sport, yet we fail to even reach the finals in 39 years.
Is there some sort of double standard going on here?

Same goes for Japan where football is number three after baseball and sumo. Fvck Islamic Republic. Without the regime, we would be in the top 20 in the world.Originally posted by littlepersia17 View PostIt's amazing people expect Australia to do good, even though soccer/football isn't a mainstream sport here.

Football is really not a big deal over there, we were in a restaurant during the final in Melbourne and none of the staff seemed to know or care! The hotel receptionist also asked me whether Australia was participating in the AC! lolچو ایران نباشد تن من مباد
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

Forget about a lack of infrastructure, or blaming IR.
When I observe these young aspiring Australian athletes, they are quite different to the ones in Iran.
They practise, practise and practise till they're perfect in their respective sport. The other side of Australians people don't see is that they are really hungry for success. They will train day and night to get better.

What a load of rubbish , I was at the final and they were loud and passionate. You can't show couple of kids and judge the whole nation by that.
Sydney FC, two Melbourne teams, Adelaide United and western Sydney, perth and Brisbane all get 10,000 plus per game. Some IPL teams don't even have supporters( Naft, Rah Ahan, Zob to name a few),
Almost all of the Their national players play in Europe and there are more players on the move to europe.
Iranian supporters are the best as far as I am concerned but we are behind Australia in terms of management , coordination, planning, structure and a whole lot.
We should learn from them and progress or we will be left behind. There is so much talent in Iran but talent alone won't do it. We need proper management and probably a new government.

Dont try to convince people with double standards brother. They obviously have no logic.Originally posted by littlepersia17 View PostForget about a lack of infrastructure, or blaming IR.

Somehow its not as big a tournament when its not Iran that wins it.
Amazing achievement for Australia this. Again they show how its possible for a small nation to do great things.
Wish it was Iran but respect to Australia for winning this. Two finals in a row and as the saying goes....."You can only beat the teams put in front of you."
